What did you do in the garden today?

Mine are dying already
I’m sorry Penny. I think it was a tough growing season for most of us. I couldn’t grow chard at all, only the early radishes did well. Just have to hope next season is better. Most of my herbs will not over winter in my climate zone. I’ve had good luck with thyme and chives at my old house but that was 40 miles south of here. I’m hoping they along with the sage and oregano make it through the winter.

It was a tough year had early success with radishes and carrots did get like 4 zucchini
potato is still going have some I have to dig still have not had a good frost yet so have left them in the ground
Getting little country ribs ready for the oven I found some of my little carrots, turnips and green onions. I put them in the bottom of the baking dish then sprinkled some of the herbs I just dried plus a snip of fresh rosemary. Kind of an homage to my garden. I’m sure it will be tasty. I will plant more carrots and turnips next year. Good luck with your potatoes Penny.

Well, frost is coming Thursday night.

So I drained all the irrigation systems today and pulled out and cleaned the garden. Man that's depressing. I pulled out 8 gallons of decent green tomatoes. I haven't decided if I'm going to try to ripen them or not.

Two more batches of apples for the dehydrator starting tomorrow.

I had to find a leak in the coop roof and do a temporary fix until the steel can be ordered to properly fix it. Slapped some flex-seal up there for extra measure.

Still tons of chores to do; patio furniture needs stored, coop winter panels need washed and installed, I need to finish building a window that that calf broke and install it, stone flower bed needs ripped out, alpaca hay needs raked up, the whole 7 acres needs mowed, winter water systems for animals need hooked up, and the chicken run needs scraped out and cleaned. :caf Ya. I don't wanna do any of it.
