What did you do in the garden today?

No plants today. Stripped out the home office and painted it. I'll let it set for two days before assembling the new office desk suite and putting the library shelving back in. It's a huge job, but it was LONG over due.

It was also originally intestinal pink. When I bought the house, I had the painter throw some boring beige on it just so I could get by. It is now a deep, rich, slate blue called summerhouse blue by Valspar. It looks amazing with the maple suite and the rich red gold oak trim.

Next project inside is the adjacent bathroom. New paint, new light fixture, new taps for the shower and faucet and new countertop.

Next outside project is ripping out a 1000 sq ft rock bed to let it go to grass.

Yes, I have my Mom's kitchenaid mixer! I'll have to check into that! Thanks, @penny1960 !
LOVE my meat grinder attachment! Fine and course plates. I use it to grind pepperoni as I prefer ground to the slices. OH and once you have that, the puree end is just an add on for the grinder attachment!

Lost my taste for Deer living in Juneau, Sitka deer the size of a golden retriever and live on salt filled diet
I like to grind it up into ground venison and use it like I would hamburger. It is soooo much leaner!
My husband isn't a fan of venison but he will eat it this way and a lot of the time he doesn't even realize it's venison. The backstraps and roasts and other goodies will go to my son and his family. They love venison!!

Good morning all. No work in the garden today. Rain moving in later. We finally got a break in the temperatures, it's currently 35F and cloudy. You're killing me @karenerwin with the venison. I love it but haven't had it in years. Backstrap is my absolute favorite. I'm following @WthrLady and getting back to interior work. My goal is to finish up the little bit in the sunroom then tackle the bathroom. I'm just painting in those rooms. I hope I can remove the wallpaper in the kitchen so I can paint it rather than hire someone. If I can do the painting then I will be able to afford a new kitchen counter. The cabinets are fine, they just need a little freshening up. The ceiling in the kitchen is cathedral style with skylights so it involves some ladder work - not my strong point as gravity is not my friend. My winter heath plants are still doing well despite the sudden temperature drop these past two weeks. So they should be able to make it through this first winter. Have a great day everyone.

The thing is that it's the rainforests burning! The fire's not supposed to be able to sustain in some places that have burnt...

The Koalas are burning! And I don't even really care much about Koalas until I see one or hear about how few there are left... Or that they are all inbred now... Or that a dog attacked one. Disease this, hit by car that.

Poor everything that lived in the millions of hectares...

I don't even think about the animals and it makes me cry. It's kinda weird. I think I am crying over the trees.

I would too, they're important! Shoot, I was upset when we had to take down a huge tree in our yard because it was too close to the house.

I was reading about the fires there, terrible destruction I know. I hope they're under control soon!
