Not that it is an INSTANT SOLUTION,,,,, but look at my Avatar,,, (no,, not the serama ) I do not have a mice problem.

You don't see many outdoor cats around here. Coyotes take them very quickly. Even small dogs can't be far from an owner.

We have the same problem here but the dogs have kept them safe
to this point although we did have three outside cats one has disappeared

Could we get a shot of the leaves on that little orange globe? Okay, I use RatX for mice here. It will kill mice and rats but not others. So it’s safe to use around livestock. It was suggested to me by a friend who has a real farm.

Will look into that here even found it Amazon has it will not kill moles or voles

I need to change over to real paint stirring sticks. The quart ones this year are thinner than popsicle sticks and snap if you look at them. The full size paint sticks are great too. 10 for 98 cents. Those I drill a hole at the edge and use as a spreader. My pear trees are notorious vertical growers.

Orchard is trimmed, but I need stronger for those darn pear trees.

These pictures are of our family heirloom bread trough! I know it was on my Mother’s Grandmother’s farm and was in use then. My Mom believes it came across the ocean from “the old country “.
I haven’t ever used it. But I should get a good recipe from someone and try it out!
Edited to add: there were supposed to be 3 pictures! LOL. I had turned it over so you could see the underneath as well and the 3rd picture had my hand on it for a size reference.

So, I am curious. You are talking about these being cherry bushes. I have never heard of cherries growing on bushes, only trees. Are these "real" cherries?

Hi everyone, just popping in to ask a question! I’m not a gardener, or know my plants, so it would be of great help if anyone can help me figure out what these little orange berries are. I live in central California and I have never seen these little items before...

They look like persimmons to me but the seeds should be big, dark brown and kind of flat.

I think persimmons are bigger, at least they are around here. There are lots of bread recipes available on the King Arthur Flour website @karenerwin. Happy baking.

Yes, I agree with you. Once I saw the size comparison to a penny, I was pretty sure it was NOT a persimmon, plus the seeds don't look right.
Maybe she could post the pictures on a "Who's from California" type thread and see if she gets any better replies? Of course, she would need to come back here and tell us what it is!
