Matter of fact is accurate, maybe a little bitterness added. Nothing new yet, but I haven't been serious about looking either. I'm still at the old job until the end of the month and have my grandkids after school, working on my resume, etc. I don't even know what I'm qualified to apply for, I have worked for the same place 16 years.
I know what you mean. When I retired from 24 years of teaching and then realized that I needed to get a job, I had no idea what I would be qualified to do. I ended up putting labels on boxes in a factory ( and I have a master's degree in Education!![]()
I think I am a little over qualified for my job! But, I don't mind. It's only 3 days a week and the people are nice.
Good luck in whatever you pursue!

Pioneers referred to them as Limb Chickens. They needed protein from whatever source they could find.darn little tree rats are cute......but they're still tree rats
Till the 17th of Feb. DH flies to Oahu for doc appointment and mom will fly with him. He will stay a week there with her and then I hope he brings her back here. She has become afraid to fly alone (don't blame her a bit) probably because of the dementia. We just have to do a little more to help her out now. She can still sit cross legged on the floor and get herself up. Absolutely no arthritis... me on the other hand... ouch!
I'm sorry but I have to be in @cavemanrich 's camp. I think the squirrels are cute... I'm sure I would feed them too. Fantastic yard, neighborhood and garden @cavemanrich. My mom is from Illinois so we traveled to visit family when I was a little kid. I always thought it fairy tale beautiful. I loved the fireflies![]()
That's how I feel about pigeons...no flying rats for dinner, I've seen what they eat off the parking lot at the grocery store.I'm not against eating squirrel. I'm just not certain I would want to eat local squirrel since we live in a suburban area. There's plenty of fields, parks and woods nearby, but I imagine the squirrels good be getting into all sorts of litter, garbage and even poison potentially.
Yummy, 'possum pot pieGood morning gardeners. What a jolly conversation. I have never eaten a squirrel, however, my old Joy of Cooking book has instructions for dressing a squirrel (also, rabbits & oppossums) and how to cook them. Just if you're interested. LOL! I know how hard it is to get a job after turning 50. That's why I clung to and endured a lot of crap at the job I retired from a couple of years ago. I really hated the job, but the pay was steady. I have come to the realization that in order to afford my kitchen remodel, I will have to find a part time job. And yes, I too have a Master's degree. However, when you are pushing 70, that doesn't matter. So I'm thinking part time retail come next Fall when the stores are hiring extra help. As for critter repellant @cavemanrich, I think I may give the Tomcat brand a try this year. I'm not all that thrilled with sharing my vegetables with the little free loaders. Have a great day everyone.
