What did you do in the garden today?

So much for social distancing. I'm sure you have seen the Covid-19 numbers for Massachusetts. I want my yard to look nice, however, I want to be around to enjoy it.
Do you have a Menards by you? You can order online with the method "you pull it". Then just drive around into the yard in the back. Must Men's gave their garden center connected to the yard. Drive up as close as you can, grab the mulch bags and leave. I just purchased lumber this way yesterday and didn't have to be near anybody. It was great.

No, unfortunately. I can order just about anything online except for mulch and groceries and get the curbside service. You can get curbside service at the liquor stores, go figure! This is a large semi-rural, agricultural area with a few stores in nearby towns, so the demand is quite high there. The population around here is mostly much younger and not as high risk as many of us older citizens. So remarkably, the senior hours that some stores offer are not so crowded.

Good morning gardeners. @Wee Farmer Sarah I agree it's dumb you can't get curbside, just be careful! @BReeder! Lovely space you have there; some of the pics you posted before make your place look smaller than it is. @Severne welcome to the thread. @karenerwin I hope you can get your mom back into her own place, how is she doing? I took the cuttings from the Mexican bird of paradise yesterday and they're out in the shade garden. I'm debating about whether to start the fairy dusters or wait until Fall and then plant in Spring. Probably should wait. The seller included some shasta daisy seeds free so I need to figure out where to plant those, I don't know much about them though. To my amazement the new hibiscus is still alive and the older one is putting out lots of green :yesss:Got everything watered early this morning and took the top off the kiddie pool so the flock can enjoy the grass. I also gave them a squash I left too long before picking; the skin got thick, tough and started getting bumps like a gourd.

I have to run to the store this morning for distilled water for the incubator and a couple things for dinner, then wash my sheets and give the dogs a bath. They had too much fun out back earlier and they're brown rather than white  Of course they came running into the house and right onto my bed to make a huge mess, punks. Enjoy your day all!

I love the kiddie pool full of grass. The local hardware store has mulch so I can get curbside from them. So it’s a lot quicker trip.

I love the kiddie pool too! I was just going through some lumber we have to see if I can come up with enough for a grazing frame! I made a sifter for the compost a few weeks ago, I can probably use that for now.

I feel bad, the little were raised free range on a farm in the middle of the hay fields. They have bare ground here & full out RUN & fight if a leaf falls from the tree above. I ordered some alfalfa cubes but I'd like to grow some grass too.

I'd like to add a couple more pools and plant them in succession so when one is demolished there's more growing. The flock loves that thing.

Gee, that was easy and quick too. I have the mulch and it's drying on the side of the driveway. Of course it's still breezy, but I think I'll be OK after lunch to tackle the weed whacking in the front yard and maybe get some of the mulch down. I would really like to spray my apple trees but it's so windy that it would be quite challenging. I can keep the bottle handy so if I get a chance I can get some neem oil spray on them. So with this whole coronavirus thing, I know a lot of people want to get back to their old normal, but I can't see that happening anytime soon without an even more devastating loss of life. I just plan on doing my thing with as little in-person social interaction as possible. I really should make another mask or two for myself.

I agree with you WFS. I wore a mask when I went to the store today and we're going to buy some elastic for the masks we have. Back to the gardening, I bought 2 juniper plants today. One is a bit dry but I've got them on the patio for now. Not sure where I'm going to plant them yet, maybe in the xeriscape area in Fall.

Wow different worlds. We only wear here were businesses require them, and very few do. Don't want to wear, shop somewhere else. Menards required, HomeDepot- right next door, same parking lot, does not. Both are limiting the number of people in the store at a time. Don't want to wait, go to ACE across the street.

Better yet, I'll just go to the village to the mom and pop.

Got another broody. She's a feisty thing that won't play tic-tac-toe in the egg boxes, nor will she submit to another bird that just wants to lay an egg on her spot. So here's hoping.

The mite sufferers are growing back feathers, so here's hoping we're on the down hill slide of that one. BUT on Thursday I will treat again, and then again the next Thursday.

Tomato plants are still playing 'going for walkies' on the large wagon with the extension board.

I might add the squash to that ride this week too.
