What did you do in the garden today?

I only use Round Up on my battle against poison ivy. I’m too allergic to it to do much else. I do sometimes try to pull it up/ dig it up but I always end up with a case of poison ivy when I do. No matter what precautions I take. 😞😖

We didn’t get much rain yesterday either and today’s high is only 72. We are looking at a week of cooler temperatures! Today is windy though.
Once my stomach startsbehaving I’m going to go out and transplant a bunch of marigolds that I started from seed I had saved. I didn’t realize that EVERY seed was going to sprout! 🤣
I probably have 200 tiny marigolds and they will get huge ( at least they did last year!). I had never seen any so big before!
Yesterday I went to Walmart because a friend said the had 4 packs of petunias marked down to 10 cents. 😳
I bought a dollars worth and got them planted in the veggie gardens. They are supposed to help keep away aphids, hornworms, asparagus beetles, squash beetles and other pests!!

@Acre4Me summer happened. We have 2 seasons where I live and this is the non growing season unless someone has a recipe for cooking cotton.
@karenerwin I don't know how it happened but I became immune to poison ivy. I used to get into it all the time as a youngin, but later in life I became a vector for girlfriends who would put on my nasty dirty t-shirts or do my laundry.

I shot my first rat yesterday.
Good shot! Sounds like a pretty small target.
OMG Cupcake is adorable, bet she can't wait to birth those babies!
She didn't have them last night but she's pulling fur like crazy today so maybe tonight.
Pics for sure! At the auction this weekend, I bid on a pregnant Doe. I didn't get it, the price went a little higher than I wanted considering that I didn't go there to buy a rabbit.
Cupcake was pregnant when we got her so we got her and her 4 babies for the price of one.

Good afternoon gardeners, we got an inch of rain last night so just had to water the greenhouse. Made a shopping run this morning so that took a while but I did pick the zucchini this morning, making spaghetti for dinner and a couple of these will be great with it:

The one hid from me but it was still fine if a bit big, but I had heard that chickens were keen for overgrown zucchini so I split it and cut it into chunks. They weren't too sure at first but now there are just a little of the skins left. And since the kale is now growing out of control I give a bunch of leaves to the chickens hanging from a cord.

Got a watermelon at the store and I'm itching to offer some of it to the chickens and rabbits but I'm trying to practice some moderation. Of course if I want to eat some myself I'd need to do something with those rinds, right?

All of the Brandy Boys have it, the San Marzanos are ok so far but they did get it eventually last year so they probably will too. It can sort of be treated with copper sulfate, it won't cure them but they will live & produce. I'll have to treat them every couple of weeks though & I don't like using the stuff so I'm considering ripping out the plants. At least it's early enough I could plant something in their spot. Not sure what to do here.
