What did you do in the garden today?

i actually had a pretty productive day. i painted the fence post and attached the birdhouse on top, weeded and deadheaded the front flower beds, put some fresh mulch in the chicken run, got a new hose for the water barrel, and installed a couple hose holders.

i think i might have to get a pump for the rainbarrel. the water is barely flowing through the hose for some reason.

while at lowes for the hose and new garden gloves (i keep wearing holes in mine) i saw and smelled a star jasmine. so tempted to go back and get it to train up the corner of my house. i am a sucker for scented flowers - lilacs, hyacinths, honeysuckle, roses, peonies... the jasmine is a zone 8 though and we are zone 7. i might try it anyway as i have had zone 8 plants come back the next year. any tips on how i could get it through the winter?

Pics please? Everyone here loves pictures, and I know I get great ideas from other folks work!

We got the rabbit tractor completed today and put the 10 week olds out to grow up a little.

We put fence wire in the bottom so they should be safe over night. The bunnies loved the bigger space, they hopped and spun and had a great time. The cage was simple enough that we could make a couple more and use one for a meat chicken grow out pen.

One of the guys at the local lumber store saved us a really nice pallet to add to our planting madness. Just needs a few boards added and we just happen to have some scrap boards from a storm door we had delivered, so free deck!

Lower left is my cloth planting bag with my just sprouted carrots. Too small to see.

We had stir fry with rice and chicken for dinner. About half the veg came from the garden.

It is so nice to see an under control yard. Mine sure isn't and my battery charger for the batteries died at the 50% done on my yard point. Greenworks Pro at least changed their 3 year warranty over to a 5 year one if you are using their products for consumer use so is sending out a replacement for free. Free beats $70-90 for sure. In the last 3 years I have had them replace a battery($150), the weedeater shroud broke was sent a replacment, and now this charger otherwise the entire system has been rock solid. I would have had 0 problems if I wasn't willing to loan out my tools but I am a sucker like that.

The guys I loan my tools to are knuckleheads I tell em things like chainsaw blades and dirt don't mix then they hit a root digging and I catch em chainsawing out roots? Then I'm stuck with the decision to spend $40 on a blade sharpening tool or $20 on a new chain.

Lucky you could get the replacement parts. And once anyone misused one of my tools would be the last use they had. That's terrible.
