i actually had a pretty productive day. i painted the fence post and attached the birdhouse on top, weeded and deadheaded the front flower beds, put some fresh mulch in the chicken run, got a new hose for the water barrel, and installed a couple hose holders.
i think i might have to get a pump for the rainbarrel. the water is barely flowing through the hose for some reason.
while at lowes for the hose and new garden gloves (i keep wearing holes in mine) i saw and smelled a star jasmine. so tempted to go back and get it to train up the corner of my house. i am a sucker for scented flowers - lilacs, hyacinths, honeysuckle, roses, peonies... the jasmine is a zone 8 though and we are zone 7. i might try it anyway as i have had zone 8 plants come back the next year. any tips on how i could get it through the winter?
