What did you do in the garden today?

I'm a bit dubious myself lol. I'm going to try rolling out like a pie crust and slicing with my pizza cutter to make strips. If I don't like it hubs will eat it regardless.

I use those press cookie cutter guns. Squeeze and a strip of jerky on the mat.

I'm going to do the same @igorsMistress - roll it out on a mat & slice it. I figured I'd give it a try & if it's super good I'll buy a jerky gun. Either way, DH will eat it here too, even if it sucks!

I am debating to go to town buy another started brussle sprouts
I lost another tire of them 4 plants beleiving it is squirrels will start using
hardware cloth over the stuff they are munching

Ok @WthrLady here's my horrible drawings! Let me know if it doesn't make sense. My reason for not really knowing what I want to do is because in the left set of beds, even though they do all head down hill, all the beds are at different heights so I'm not sure how to handle that. At least in the right bed each one is lower than the one before it so that should be good for drainage. I hope that makes sense.

YUP. Helps. Getting ready to go out and mow, but that's an easy design.
Now how do you plant those squares? Is it always a different layout? and how large are they?

There are eight 4x4 beds and I try to rotate crops every year so it's not usually the same.

Generally climbing things go around the outside edges with trellises & a bush squash in the middle, or a patch of arugula or something. Tomatoes go 4 to a bed, one in each corner.

I use every inch I possible can & grow up if possible!

Aloha kakahiaka new (to thread) and old gardeners,
Big mahalo for all the beautiful photos and stories. I am reading- just not chiming in much cuz not doing a lot garden wise.
The veggie garden is plugging along fine... and I have been able to harvest a few things, despite still having a tomato thief ..., we are getting plenty papaya's, mangoes and starfruit's.

We moved the clothesline and DH mowed the lawn as I cleaned up the borders and I got the Ti cuttings potted yesterday. Pretty sure there is nothing better than waking up to a freshly mowed lawn... for a moment all feels right in the world

Been mostly doing the chick sales and shuffle, avoiding starting the back deck. It has been hella-hot and humid here... pretty sure my toenails were even sweating this last week

My 11- one month olds have been getting longer play times in the run and have now graduated to the yard. I am surprised at how tolerant my big girls are towards them... maybe they know that the babies are really theirs! All have beautiful markings and I look forward to watching them grow.

The new babies are all sold. I think I will go through the feed stores for selling from now on as I got scammers and weirdo's on craigslist for the first time. BUT, I also met more than a few awesome folks too and got a few future orders and coop builds out of it .

Jazz's is back out sitting on another clutch of eggs, lord knows where . I do know that Kea has been mating her so I am not horribly sad.
Rose is less hormonal scary with only two chicks to care for. I found a home for her other 7. Not sure if I mentioned b4.
Only odd chicken out is 2nd Stormy, below, who started to crow and mate so is now named Kaumakani (where the 2 winds meet) Maybe he can blend in...?
