What did you do in the garden today?

I'm so sorry @igorsMistress, those temperatures are just impossible. And your allergic reaction to the chips. Hopefully as they age it should calm down. I take cetirizine in the morning and benedril at night before bed (at my doctors instruction of course) and that helps me. Unless I mow the lawn on a dry dusty day, so there are limits.

Okay so DP made the huckleberry buckle. We had a piece with vanilla bean ice cream. It was awesome! One of the best sweet things I've ever eaten. Never had a "buckle" before and it doesn't look exactly like the picture but here's where the recipe comes from, https://www.justapinch.com/recipes/...Dh7FnniCz1tZ6o2IhtKI7zAWrDnXN1SwZZY3ggu7pIa6g Worth the work the berries were.

Thank you. I’m having a breathing treatment right now, then will have the cetirizine

We are finding that our allergies are less now that we wear masks a lot. I'm not sure whether you have already tried that in the garden, but it could be worth experimenting. Sunglasses can also reduce allergies, as less of the dust and pollen reaches your eyes and the sensitive skin around them. Nothing's perfect, but they add up in a helpful way.

I've cut back some fruit trees today so that I can put in another vegetable garden.

Yes I definitely should have worn my mask. I have only one N95 left and I’m trying to stretch it as far as possible, the cloth ones don’t work nearly as well. You can be sure I’ll be wearing it the next time though.

Good morning gardeners. I’ve been out to water and we’re getting ready to go to the park this morning. It’s amazing what a breathing treatment and a day of rest does for a person. I slept like a rock and woke up bright eyed and bushy tailed this morning at 0300. We have errands to run afterward so nothing happening in the garden today. I was having issues with my android and don’t like them anyway so my daughter added me to her plan and I got an iPhone again. So much better than the android!

Glad you are feeling better @igorsMistress. Allergies can be so awful.

Not much going on in the garden today. My oldest hen has stopped laying eggs, I'm guessing she's slowing down for a molt & the winter. She's been a good layer for 2 years & is the only one of the OG left, hopefully she picks back up in the spring.

Have a great day everyone!

Good morniong gardeners and Happy Labor Day. I'm glad you are feeling better @igorsMistress. I take flonase in the morning then supplement with benedryl. Doctors orders. Mainly from all the dust the chickens kick up but right now the ragweed pollen is through the roof. I also have eyedrops that help as well. I only picked some herbs for a pasta salad this morning and those Hungarian Peppers. Not much else is ready except for the potatoes and they can stay in the ground a bit longer. The okra is still developing for now so that's a nice surprise. I still need to water the garden today (very shortly). Have a great day everyone.
