What did you do in the garden today?

I was appalled to hear that my sons work is letting some of their crew travel to the mainland for the Holidays... 🤦‍♀️This is a government subcontractor so apparently the XO has no problem with infecting our little island with very limited hospital accommodations, an endemic people who are susceptible and a population that made a lot of sacrifices to take care of our kupuna and keep our #'s down. Now, they are letting the flood gates open to a bunch of people who don't care, think C19 is a hoax or... need a vaca from their "hot spots". This appears to be more important than the health of the people of our state and nation... oh no, maybe I am going to have to band myself from posting on the garden thread again... Sorry folks but i have just been smoking hot for months. I better go check on the chickens lol...
Vent away!

lol I think I can get rather unexceptable... I have sailor blood and construction worker blood and drive (a little) truck. All the prerequisites for a unrestrained mouth, I def need to work on edit. :gig
Nah. I think this is one topic we can all agree on that we net to let it slide when it comes to the need to vent.

It is so wonderful to not be alone... though we are pretty alone.... :hmm
I think it is the lack of common sense and reasoning (decency, intelect) that has blown my mind... and I don't know what is so fricken hard about wearing a mask or making it a thing??? Why the attitude???
I put an add on craigslist and gave away free cement pots. They used to be a "thing" over here in the 40's-60's +. Materials weren't so available to us not so long ago and folks used to invest in forms and use the beach sand to make their pots. With bad TV reception and plantation ethics they just kept going. My family was no exception and we had plenty of these heavy pots that are cherished. I was heartbroken that the young, overweight, (1 indigenous) couple saw I was older and wearing a mask and kind of got snarky. ... while picking up a pile of free pots... I texted her later and kinda parented her to do better. I'm not sure why i am writing this... oh, garden pots.... and you said i could vent lol :lau thanks for the therapy!!!

It is lovely here today, 66 outside and mostly sunny, a temporary break from the storms. I got my behind out and pulled all the potted tomatoes and threw them into the compost bin, trailing tomatoes all the way. All but one of the stupice, I had single stemmed it and that plant is still viable with ripening tomatoes (sorta).

I gave the ladies the other tray of seedlings and there was much rejoicing.

Lunch is hashbrowns with cheese, fried eggs, and chopped tomatoes. Our eggs and tomatoes. Sweet!

Good God bless you and thank you for your service :loveI'm sorry we can't be better as a whole people. @WthrLady says we can let go with her permission lol.
2 of my kids are RN's, sister in law, nephew and many friends and their kids too. I wish people would just wear masks- not hard!- to protect the people we love and the people that they love.
We have a total of 111 licensed hospital beds, nine ICU beds and 15 ventilators for our population of 73,000 plus visitors. Better than I thought (6) that I had read a while back, we must have received more. Thank goodness.
Today I saw a visitor stop and talk to my auntie who has beginning stages of dementia ... both mid and upper 80's, both without a mask... I'll put money on he was supposed to be in quarantine because I have not seen him b4. :th
