What did you do in the garden today?

Good evening gardeners. TGIF! Our son helped hubs bring home home some sheets of wood this afternoon for the front of the coop. I’m going to give the interior one more coat of whitewash tomorrow and rake the ground before I put in the feeders and pine shavings. Duck eggs go into lockdown Monday morning. Next weekend should be much cooler so will try planting some greens. Hopefully it’ll stay a bit cooler for a while! Here are some garden pics from today. Have a great weekend everyone!

So exciting! And what super garden pictures! Simply lovely.
DH's temp is back to normal but he is still laying low.
So glad to hear he is a little better at least. @ChocolateMouse, do you think you'll get peas? Only thing actively growing in my garden now are the greens and they are going nuts.

Made a short shopping run into town for feed and a little more meat for the freezer and I picked up a roasted chicken for lunch. I don't know how the stores make those so moist and tender and delicious. I'll make the leftover meat into chicken salad and normally the bones and skin would go to the freezer till I had enough for a pot of soup, but now the ladies get the bones. It's kind of terrifying to give them those bones, they take one careful peck at it, then the taste of the protein kicks in and they're pecking and grabbing at it like they're trying to kill something.

I love feeding the girls bone meat and am always amazed at how clean they can pick the bones. Some serious skills.
I am super pleased that my fan came in today! I did a quick mount in the coop and turned on this eve. Girls and boys did not miss a beat. Take THAT mosquitos!!!! Boy this is going to be wonderful in the summers. It's a $50 fan but Ecovet spray is $116. per gallon and the girls hate it. I can install more 1x's for weather protection now. Yeehaa!

@igorsMistress - your yard has been such an amazing transformation. It's looking so good! Can't wait for baby ducks!! Please take pics when they start to hatch for me! ❤

@TropicalBabies - glad he's feeling better!

Not much going on around here, I pulled all the green bean seeds out of the dried pods & put them in the fridge. I still have some green tomatoes that are ripening, I mostly feed them to the girls as they are a bit soft at this point since I didn't wrap them in newspaper, can't wait till they're gone! I will get the Dahlia bulbs into the vermiculite & into storage today too. I need to cover the fig tree too, it has no leaves but 2 figs still left on it. My mission is to clean out the mudroom & that's where the beans, the tomatoes & bulbs are, if you can't tell. :gig

Have a good one all.
