I am so far behind on this thread so catching up will take a while. In the mean time, I've started seeds in the greenhouse for snap peas and a couple kinds of chard. I'll add some of those cone cabbage and assorted lettuce. I've prepped a couple of the raised beds and started weeding some of the others. Still a lot of them to get weeded. I gave the weeds to the ladies and they're sure over their reluctance to eat worms, the roots of the weeds had plenty of them. I pulled all the rest of last years chard and gave the greens to a neighbor and the roots to the ladies. The last few days I found out that chickens like (really like) the old woody beets left over in the beds too. I pulled some and tossed them in the run figuring the ladies would just eat the greens, but they've eaten nearly all of the beets too. They're laying pretty regular again, 7 or 8 eggs a day from 10 hens. I'll go out in a minute and take my problem girl off the nest she always tries to sleep on and stick her on a perch.
