Well! Got up this morning and all three of the buttercrunch lettuce have sprouted. 100% germination rate on year old seeds that were in deep freeze. Not bad!

NE Ohio it's a far ride...Really? Do you know any 4Hers? Rabbits are usually pretty popular, but you do have to know someone sometimes. I’m expecting two() litters any day now. If you’re interested.
I have been in the hospital and home now . Diverticulitis - perforated colon . Lots of antibiotics . Surgery is in my future . Not sure how much gardening I will be able to do for awhile .

As for 4H, I know there is a program but I don't know much about it or who to contact. I do want to get my kids involved, but my oldest just turned 4.
Is our first day above 30F here also in about two weeks. Sure beats below zero. Is still a cloudy day. I'm hoping the sun pokes out tomorrow. Surface tennis warm up fast in the sun to melt the snow even if the air temp is in the teens or 20s.I'm TRYING to think Spring and gardening, but just spent another hour on the plow moving our new 3.5 inches of concrete, I mean snow.
We hit 32 degrees for the first time in 17 days. It was only for 10 minutes, but I'll take it.
I cannot wait. I think I'll be planting potatoes earlier this year and covering the rows with a frost blanket. I see a show on TV about gardening in Ireland and took a few tips on potatoes among other things.27 days until the first the day of spring less than a month to go!![]()
Us too! It was 12* with a feel of one when I let the dog out this morning, but now it’s bright out, and the water is coming out of the downspouts and across the shoveled areas. Unfortunately, I can’t get into the quail pen where I lost one overnight. About 6” more snow tomorrow, but it’s going to be warmer and stay warmer. Hopefully I can get the ice broken up to open the big door to the pen.I'm TRYING to think Spring and gardening, but just spent another hour on the plow moving our new 3.5 inches of concrete, I mean snow.
