What did you do in the garden today?

I sometimes get nosebleeds from the Flonase so I stop for a couple of days. Saline nasal spray helps @penny1960. Of course Sudafed can increase your heart rate @WthrLady. Pseudoephedrine hydrochloride aka Sudafed, emphasis here is on "ephedrine," close chemical cousin to epineprine. Ephedrine is a stimulant. I used to take it in tablet form to help control my asthma. It acts similar to a vasodilator. If I took it now it may likely induce another heart attack. I've learned to be very careful when selecting medications and always discuss it with my Primary Care Physician. Considering your various medical issues I would encourage you to speak to your own doctor and have them find some medically safe alternatives, especially when you are doing so much work outside on your farm.
I always do. He said I can have some on occasion, but I'll just go without.

Just came in from opening the greenhouse, the sun came out and the vents needed opened. I moved the onions down there. I also dumped the onion soil in the bed in preparation for transplanting them. Not thinking it will happen today, but the soil is ready.
I'll do the horseradish at the same time. I have to quit when my thumb acts up.

Sprayed weeds around the house and came it to take care of the next step of the bread.

Not a whole lot of motivation going on here. Just a heap of things that need done. Dog is currently patrolling the back deck. All I can see from here is the white tip of her tail bopping around, like a shark fin.

My bet is armadillo. Squirrels make holes, but generally only two or three inches deep. More than that and you got a hillbilly speed bump rooting around.
I have had similar activity from rabbits. They dig through the mulch into the surface of the dirt to lay and cool off or to look for food.

I'm still having issues with stunted pepper plants. I have some banana peppers in the tray with the bells that are all doing great. The remaining banana peppers are in a tray with habaneros and are doing just as poorly as the habaneros and jalapenos. I just read that over watering can cause stunted growth and curled leaves. I noticed some of the leaves' edges are curled on the stunted plants, which is what got me doing some research. I was thinking my brother neglected to water these trays of stunted plants while I was out of town. Now I'm wondering if in fact he watered them but neglected the tray that is doing well. Unfortunately, I just watered everything before reading about this. I'm going to let the peppers dry out a bit now before watering them again. Perhaps a week without water is what they need. As long as they don't wilt, I'll let them go without water for a bit and see what happens.

All you allergy people - I'll tell you what has helped me the most after all these years of allergy shots, doc worthy allergic reactions & 2 sinus surgeries - a histamine-2 blocker!

Daily/year round I take Zyrtec, Fluticasone (Flonase spray), Singulair & as needed Olopatadine (eye drops). This year we added Famotidine (which is actually prescription Pepcid) & I can tell you that I have never felt so good. After all these years the allergy doc finally mentioned that a H2 blocker, in addition to the regular H1 blocker (Zyrtec) might help. :he
My doctor mentioned something about that too, but I forgot.
I took zyrtec for years but its started making me pretty drowsy. Allegra works sometimes, claritin works sometimes. I used to take advil cold and sinus, but it wasnt always easy to get and could get expensive. I absolutely cannot take anything in liquigel form.
What about flonase sensimist? I also got nosebleeds and nasty sore throats, etc with any kind of nasal spray, but I can take the sensimist and it works pretty well. It just doesnt help my hives, i still have to take a pill for those.
