What did you do in the garden today?

Rainy again today. Later when it lets up, I will go check the garden for squash and zucchini that is ready to pick. My rose of Sharons are full of buds that haven't opened yet- can't wait. I think they are so beautiful.
I hope my tent over the squash works, I didnt get very many last year, our heat index is not high enough, but folks the live in town and the surrounding area get hotter than we do and get LOTS of squash 🙁

Super busy here. Garden is taking awhile...

Military kid home!!! :love:celebrate:D

The cold my youngest gave me 2 weeks ago really ran me down. I had to go the the doctor yesterday as I was concerned due to breathing issues. So, I have bronchitis and now have antibiotics and steroids to help me get better. So, hopefully am on the mend.

Garden work.. in progress planting, just taking longer due to kid arrival prep, and illness.

potatoes: mounded them 2 days ago, they are looking good!
my potatoes are ready to mound, I'll take a pic for you before i do it and after and you can tell me if I did it right

So my red hard neck garlic has been looking a little sad lately, kinda rusty and maybe a little wilty. And I'd originally been hoping some of the garlic would be finished when it was time to plant the tomatoes in he beds and it is time to move the tomatoes. But I figured I was wrong and the garlic would not be harvestable yet bit I poked a finger down the stems of the garlic and they were huge! I pulled all the red hard neck and have it hanging in the garage/barn to dry (never did it before so I had to look it up) and now I have a big area for tomatoes between the shallots (who are not ready to harvest yet). Once I have that space tomatoed, I'll check on the other garlics in the beds.

So far anyway, we'll see how far along he softnecks are. Still munching on the white radishes as a snack in the morning, the snap peas are not quite filled out enough, we're have baby beets and their greens with lunch.

The weather is kind of chilly and threatening rain but once lunch is over I'll got back out, I just can't wait to get more tomatoes planted.
my first round of radish came out tough, my white ball turnips flowered and were very small--- OHHM,,, so, I pulled them all up. re fed the dirt with Down to Earth all purpose mixed with aged chicken poo, and replanted the turnips--- watered and prayed

Recap, last year an idiot tore up my property with a lawn tractor because… Yeah, I don’t know. I can’t get over the cable they somehow hit that holds up the clothesline pole. It’s a thick metal cable, and easy to see.
Anyway, they didn’t rip out all of the rhubarb, but somehow the grass has taken over my remaining patch. Any thoughts on how to attack the grass and dandelions? Is it a hand tools only situation, or is there something easier I can do?

Length of day triggers flowering . Turnips the old saying in my area was plant 25th of July wet or dry . Decreasing length of day they will not bolt to seed . Radishes also do better with decreasing days .

Hello all! Been a bit MIA lately because I haven't had the energy to get much done...found out I'm pregnant and the first trimester this time around is NO JOKE. Been trying to just maintain things the best I can, but all cool project ideas are on hold. The gladiolus bulbs are getting ready to bloom though, and one of the rain lilies bloomed this week! Pretty happy about that, since we had a bit of a gap after the irises were finished for the year.

My first planting was March 7th. I just replanted Radish, turnip, arugula, and salad mix.
