What did you do in the garden today?

Nothing happened today. I was out late visiting friends last night and had a church event this morning. I also got some kind of sting on my pinkie toe. I didn’t feel it happen and it’s pretty swollen I figure a wasp got me last night when I was helping my friend spray the nests in her shed.

I watered the uphill garden today. Good thing, too, as some stuff was very sad looking! Several more days of heat coming; rain MAYBE on Wednesday. I think I'm going to be watering the gardens on alternate days unless/until we get some rain.

Made cinnamon rolls here we have rain off and one today so baked had to pickup cream cheese to go on them

Pulled out the "flowers" from.the bed in front. Stuck them in a container in case they really are flowers. Aren't they pretty Anyway, the bed looks better. Added more to my soccer net chicken barrier. It is raining again, so i don't know when it will be dry enough to attach chicken wire to the fence so the girls stay safe. Good thing they come when i call them away from there.

Also, check out this egg one of the 1 year olds laid today!

Transplanted a couple of roses, weeded the Asian jasmine, weed whacked around some roses and fixed the sink hole on the edge of the sitting area- a couple of the capstones on the edge sank way down for some reason- like 6 inches or more. Came in just before it started to rain. Yay

I can't help but think that would be equivalent to having a 10 lb baby. My white egg layers are kinda small! Andalusian maybe....Can't imagine it was Tina

1 drake : 2-3 females

I’ve read it depends on the drake, but I don’t see any wear and tear on the girls and don’t think it’ll be an issue.

Well... it's still to dang hot, but I'm going to have no choice now. The raspberries arrived, four days early, sheesh. Think I have enough dirt for them to get potted tonight, but might stretch it a bit with this sandy stuff to help drainage. The seller was nice enough to include a warning to give them only morning sun for the first two weeks. I'll probably extend that since it's so hot. Just bring them in mid-morning for a month or so. I've got a kitchen window that gets a lot of light.

First time getting bare root plants shipped... should be an adventure. I'll do that after toddler goes to bed. He's had too much sun today already, but I've got a bit more time left for myself. I'll water then too.

I'm realizing that I need to become one of those early to rise people. If I were to get up at 5am, I'd have about three hours to work with where kiddo would still be asleep. Problem with that is my more natural, night owl tendencies. And, dh is a more intense night owl than I am.
