What did you do in the garden today?

I feel like I'm the only person here who doesn't plant corn. I won't do it, you can't peer pressure me into it like you did with the strawberries. :gig
I only grow decorative corn. Otherwise it is one of those plants that takes up too much room and requires too much attention when I can buy a bushel of it in season for $5 LOL.

What is making holes in my pepper bed? Mouse sized holes here and there, near the base of several plants. No tunnel ridges in top of soil or in the yard near the bed, so don’t think moles. We set out a baited snap trap last night near a hole -but no catch, bait still there. The only other raised bed near this one has no holes. I sprayed a jet of water for a minutes down each hole, but nothing popped up or out of the holes. No, water did not come out of another hole when I did this. I covered the holes and smashed in the holes -will see if they are remade. So far, the plants seem fine, no deterioration of the plants.

=========
Manged to cut out half the pieces for a quilt. Had to take a break as thumb was killing me. Managed to hose off critters and put out fresh water. 92 degrees and feels like 100 with the humidity. Laundry is done. Fabric for the new sewing double is washed and airing before I cut out that pattern.
I might cut more fabric after supper, but more likely I'll clean out the space so I can freely work.

Garden has been well watered and fed. I MUST tie up plants before storms come with wind tomorrow night.

I was talking with a coworker about planting corn and mentioned this, telling her corn was wind pollinated, and a row, or a corn plant here and there wasn't going to get pollinated. She looked thoughtful for a moment, and then said, "Oh. I thought they were more social than that."
:idunno Don't know how to respond to that!
