I love that everyone is canning stuff (& harvesting)! I want pics from everyone! LOL. (I miss @igorsMistress, she always shamelessly begged for pics with me!)

It's she still around? Perhaps just ended her garden season? I know summer is hard on AZ to garden.

here the same. people without income pay taxes. they estimate that someone to survive needs 3500 eur/year. so people without income pay taxes based on that sum.

Good morning gardeners. Having my second cup of coffee while my first batch of tomato sauce is doing its first cooking. I ran out of mustard seed for the pickles so while the tomatoes are cooling I can dash to the store and get more. The sauce is 2/3 San Marzano and 1/3 early girl and cherry tomatoes. The SM's are so sweet I like more tart taste of the other tomatoes to balance the sauce. The peaches are so close to ripening. The green hue is changing to yellow so maybe tomorrow? After canning for the first time on my new stove I can honestly say I'm so glad I got rid of the glass top monstrosity. The 16 quart canner heated up much faster and maintained the boil steadily. My huge exhaust hood was pretty amazing too as it sucked all the steam and heat up and out of the kitchen. Henri is finally gone out to sea. Yay! Although it will be a bit warmer today it's all sunny and dry. Tomorrow I should have some okra ready to pick and surprise, surprise I finally have lima beans in some of the pods. I think they should be ready tomorrow as well. Not much else going on, hoping for a relatively quiet, uneventful day without tornado warnings and tropical downpours. Have a great day all.

My husband picked 3 gallons of tomatoes and a gallon of green beans this morning. We are in a heat advisory again

Drew eyes on CD's and hung them in the fig tree to scare off the birds. Now just have to deal with the fig beetles. Probably will end up bagging some figs anyway. I have new varieties to try from last years grafts.

It's HOT out there! heat advisories expected all week!

Garden:

Onions looking good. Planted a long day variety, and a neutral day variety - can really see a difference in their growth as I got them in the ground fairly late. This means the long day variety stopped growing once day length got to a certain number of hours, but the neutral day variety has been growing nicely.

The very front one is the neutral day variety, but the ones in the back of the pic are the long day variety.

Pole beans are coming along well - still growing and beginning to dry out. I've planted about 6 pole bean varieties for drying.

Another kind: a black bean. Very purple husks and very black beans inside.

Another bean tower with one of my favorites: "Good Mother Stallard" soup bean.

Tried getting pics of the monstrous pumpkin, but, it’s so big I think I’ll just wait till fall when the foliage dies back..! Darker variety is getting pretty..

Yup, isn't it fun? (NOT) we hit 111 yesterday, only 104 SO FAR today. Too hot to even do more than throw food and fresh water at the livestock.
