What did you do in the garden today?

For those of you who have been around for a bit, might be interesting to do a search of your posts in this thread. just to get an idea what you did in your garden... around Christmas time... or pick any time.....every year... for the past xx years.

About what time did I plant my onions every year? How did they turn out
What was the weather like year after year on this day?

Trip down memory lane type thing. Might be entertaining.

Siding guys finished the siding 11 weeks ago. THe company sent me my final invoice asking for the remainder of the payment. I sent them an email stating I would GLADLY hand over a check as soon as they schedule a final inspection of the work, finish repairs for things that weren't done right, and see if everything was done to contract (it was not). AMAZING how fast they called me back. I mean COME ON, almost 3 months?!?!? He said he is rushed every day with inspections and overseeing jobs. Well that's his job. I'm sorry. Did they expect me to sign off on a job and send a check without having it checked? Um NO.
Idiots.
I have another 25,000$ job, they won't be getting it.
I feel your pain. I am on a renovation project myself. 30 yr old pier & beam home. Noticed some soft spots in the floor last year. So I'm having new sub-floor & covering installed. First contractor: No network or referrals so had to pick & choose from the local "source paper". Picked the one who had the best reviews, references and fewest complaints (someone's always gonna b!t(# ). He did a sloppy job that the flooring people had to fix, several days he did not show up and he had excuses for not getting to my home until 9:30-10 and leaving @ 3 and leaving for 1-2 hrs for lunch. Took him 3 weeks to do a 1 week job. (This was just the kitchen. Glad I only contracted him for a small part of the house).
The flooring people: Found out they have contractors they use for construction stuff so I hired them to do another, small part plus the flooring on what had been "fixed" so far. They were not much better. Their crews did not communicate with each other so at intervals the job would stop. When no one would show up I would call the flooring folks who, I assumed, were spearheading the project and someone would show the next day or so to do their part. I ended up installing some baseboards and cabinets just cause that was the next step, no one showed up to work and I was getting tired of the work stoppages. Turns out that saved me several hundred $.
Not even halfway finished with the project yet. Probably not gonna do much this winter cause I don't want big holes in my floor during the cold weather. Hopin I find a better company over the winter but still looks like slim pickins so far.

Good idea. Before I decided to move across the country, I was taking a video of the yard each month. I have looked them over to see not just what was planted/blooming, but what was ripped out - this place was so overgrown when I moved in. Jade, iceplant, and euphorbia everywhere.

No garden work today, but the Mexican sunflower is blooming. This whole area was jade when I moved in. It's trying to creep back through the fence.
