I feel your pain. I am on a renovation project myself. 30 yr old pier & beam home. Noticed some soft spots in the floor last year. So I'm having new sub-floor & covering installed. First contractor: No network or referrals so had to pick & choose from the local "source paper". Picked the one who had the best reviews, references and fewest complaints (someone's always gonna b!t(# ). He did a sloppy job that the flooring people had to fix, several days he did not show up and he had excuses for not getting to my home until 9:30-10 and leaving @ 3 and leaving for 1-2 hrs for lunch. Took him 3 weeks to do a 1 week job. (This was just the kitchen. Glad I only contracted him for a small part of the house).Siding guys finished the siding 11 weeks ago. THe company sent me my final invoice asking for the remainder of the payment. I sent them an email stating I would GLADLY hand over a check as soon as they schedule a final inspection of the work, finish repairs for things that weren't done right, and see if everything was done to contract (it was not). AMAZING how fast they called me back. I mean COME ON, almost 3 months?!?!? He said he is rushed every day with inspections and overseeing jobs. Well that's his job. I'm sorry. Did they expect me to sign off on a job and send a check without having it checked? Um NO.
Idiots.
I have another 25,000$ job, they won't be getting it.
Good idea. Before I decided to move across the country, I was taking a video of the yard each month. I have looked them over to see not just what was planted/blooming, but what was ripped out - this place was so overgrown when I moved in. Jade, iceplant, and euphorbia everywhere. For those of you who have been around for a bit, might be interesting to do a search of your posts in this thread. just to get an idea what you did in your garden... around Christmas time... or pick any time.....every year... for the past xx years.
About what time did I plant my onions every year? How did they turn out
What was the weather like year after year on this day?
Trip down memory lane type thing. Might be entertaining.
