What did you do in the garden today?

Just got home from TSC and HD. I found a cool solar light for the chicken coop, outside of course. We’re going Walmart now so I’ll look for some paint for the outside of the coop while I’m there. At HD hubs found a nice looking cantaloupe start so I need to plant that, but no bricks that match what I’ve already got here.

Was this light at TSC or HD?

DW and the kids cleaned up the yard today. That's about all we got done it there. I'll be home tomorrow for Easter. After breakfast, a visit from the bunny and an egg hunt I'll find an opportunity to get outside and finish planting potatoes.
Tomato seeds are sprouting. I think some peppers are too. I should have 6-8 week old plants right now, but was really set back by the fungus that hit my starts and lack of tone to replant them for several weeks. Hoping the garden still works out well this year. Likely not transplanting most things until mid-May except a few tomatoes and eggplant that did survive the fungus tasty will go put on a week or two pending weather.

The garlic (planted from spring shipped cloves) is doing great.

The garlic planted using "bulblets" That I received this spring are finally beginning to sprout! Planted before the above garlic cloves.

Chicks (7 weeks) are doing well. Most of them in the pic. AMAZINGLY...By the third night of making them sleep in the coop nearly ALL were on the roosts with the big girls! granted, any in reach of the big girls were getting a peck now and again, and they weren't on the highest roost either, but they must catch on quicker than some other batches. Some batches it is 2+ weeks of chasing them or catching them to put them in the coop....then they huddle up in the corner. So, this integration has gone pretty well.

Garlic looks great!

Chicks look great also, so sweet sitting up on a big girl roost! ❤️

Ugh! I bet I just lost all my seedlings! Tomatoes, basil, Oregano, peppers, cucumbers, etc! DH said it wasn't going to get below 55 last night...it's 45!
Do yall think anything will survive? They were already lookin rough from the fungus gnats and the mosquito bit treatment.
I have been moving them in and outside for the past 2 weeks or so.

Morning all. Not much happening in the garden except I have to cover the fig tree & maybe put the plastic back on the lettuce hoop as they're talking cold & possible snow. :barnie Of course I folded up the plastic & put it away YESTERDAY. Oh & plug in the chicken waterer. Hopefully this is the last of it.
