What did you do in the garden today?

Even when I worked in the rock quarry they didn't use dynamite, LOL. Going to have to start calling Aaron Wile E. Coyote instead.

We've got a chest freezer outside with a bag of chicken feed in it. Not much room for anything else and I've yet to get a thermometer to see how well it holds up in the summer temps. Other than that I have a dinky little RV fridge and it's attached dinky freezer, plus a super tiny fridge in the outside kitchen that we use to hold extra gallons of milk so we don't take up all the space in the main fridge. We go through three or more a week, but the space is precious, lol.

Heavy dew? Light rain? Not sure what it was but everything was wet when I went outside this morning, so I didn't have to water. Cranked up the second AC, main can't handle the heat today. High of 96 in three hours. Plants doing well, although my kale is starting to bolt. Dang it.

The watermelon tunnel starts functioning. Herbs are in, young hedge (box) plants are on board, and I will add two grapes tomorrow.

Besides the sweet peas, new residents moved in today included: salad greens, onion, and parsley. Potatoes, zucchinis, pumpkins, and cucumbers stay there for hardening off. Where there is a frost warning, they will come back to the greenhouse.

A bling-bling watermelon tunnel

I have a 14,000 BTU LG unit with dual inverter. Should be more than enough... The room size will be somewhere around 10 ft x 6 ft.

I don't want anything to freeze....just stay cool so maintain a temp around 33-35 degrees.
Wasn't it @muddy75 who was telling us how to make homemade walk in coolers?

Ive been thinking of t his since last night TBH, turning a big part of the garage, which the truck sits outside, the garage is just a big s41t closet to be honest. Put a walk in fridge in there, say 10 x 10 or even 8 x 8 whatever, with a window ac and vent it out the garage window. I DO need the space to store food stuff. get two of them and you can make half cooler, half freezer, ... but that'd mean Id have to actually CLEAN the garage. umm.... I better think on this some more :)

I've been down this path....lol. That's where my train of thought started. Then I decided to build a new coop/feed room/goat house/carport and was going to put it in there. Then the price of lumber went interstellar so I decided instead to simply put it in a corner of my barn.
And now I don't have to clean the garage....😂

So what you are telling me is... I need to build a barn / work area / garage / hobby shop.

Been thinking about that too. Now you gave me more reasons TO do it. Well besides the price of building materials now, that barn will probably cost more than the house at this point :( Let me talk to my accountant, see if I can figure out a way to write some of this stuff off on my business since I'd be using a lot of it FOR my business. ideas ideas ideas...
