fresh dug potatoes and sausage for 4th of July dinner. We grilled out a few days ago when friends were in town for a visit (burgers, steak, chicken), so going with a different meal.
These are yellow "Carola" and purple "Blackberry" potatoes. Many are smaller, but neither variety produces extremely large ones

So, This is all of the yellow potatoes. I know that the yellow ones are indeterminate potatoes - so, one should plant deep and mound several times as they grow to theoretically get more potatoes. Also, spacing should allow for some larger potatoes. That is what I did last year, but we really never got particularly large potatoes nor a bigger haul per plant. So this year I basically planted many in my raised bed and never hilled them, instead, I just planted them fairly deep. We shall see what the white potatoes end up looking like - they should be a generally larger potato. but I did not hill or give them a whole lot of space. The white ones aren't ready yet, so it will be 1-2 weeks at least before they are removed.
