What did you do in the garden today?

Well I had a follow up and lab work with my GP yesterday . Did a grocery run . No electric carts available . So got DW's electric chair out and I walked with a cart . Went well . I could not have done that a week ago . Heart is getting better .
Awesome news! So glad you are healing and improving! Try not to overdo in all this extreme weather we are havin! Yall still at the cabin?!

Hello gardeners. There’s nothing happening in my garden but gasping for life or giving up right now. We’re under a heat alert for the next two days and it’s been close to that the last couple of days. The rooster goes to freezer camp tomorrow and that will simplify things with the flock. The new rooster is used to being handled regularly and he comes from tough stock so I have high hopes that he’ll work out. I’m in the process of ripping everything out of the shade garden except a couple of things and starting over. I’ve come to the conclusion that I’m going to need shade for the veg garden also so working on ideas for that. It’s a big space so I may put three separate, sunken beds in there with shade over each and leave walkways uncovered. Still considering those plans but I’ve found some ideas online that appeal. Anyway, time for work, enjoy your gardens all.

No we are home since June 29 . Going back in about 2 weeks . The bad thing about the heat is early it is nearly 100 percent humidity . Later it is hot with lower humidity . Evening seems to be the best . It is cooling off but still low humidity . Hey I got gifted a cutting of a new to me trailing coleus . Yes they do exist . This one is Yoesemite a green and yellow . Wedding train and Queen are often available and I have a green and rose colored one . When I was young - yes it was a long time ago - the women used to share a coleus that branched a lot . Have not seen those in awhile . I plant mine outside for the summer .

I missed alot of forum action I see lol! My garden has been one of combat this week...the berries are producing and so are my peppers but then I spied a caterpillar! Unknown type but still evil. So I got my gloves some water in a little bucket and started plucking. Dozens all over my squash, cucumbers and tomatoes(hornworms grrr). It was hot yesterday like sitting in a hairdryer hot. We had local watermelon with dinner and the girls had a feast of drown caterpillars on watermelon rind. Never did I think my chickens would race to say hello like.they did this morning hoping for more caterpillars lol! There was obvious disappointment. We got a little under and inch of rain....so today starts grass combat 🤦🏻‍♀️

I gifted a neighbor coleus cuttings that I didn't dream would root so I had like 10 of em! These are the orange rust colored ones. We have em in 2 large containers out front and they are thriving!
Then I've got one out back that similar to the witch one (can't remember the name) and another one that had more greens on it that I did from seed!!
I luv em!!!
A trailing would be awesome for hanging planters!!!

So here are pics of the mystery tomato - anyone have any guesses? Maybe early girl? I tried to get a pic that shows that teardrop shape at the bottom.
