I check daily for the bugs. Temps might be it. It's been a rough summer. Drought and high temps. Thanks. I'll be grateful for the one I did get.have you checked for Squash Vine Borer? You will see the stem damaged, ofter with yellow crumbly stuff coming out of the stem - usually near/ on the main stem near the main roots (so, just above ground level). If you slice into the stem, you will find a largish white caterpillar. But, a heavy squash bug infestation can also cause problems. Any aphids or mites present?
If none of these, maybe it needs fertilizer. Squash are heavy feeders. Could be high temps as well.
