That looks great. I've been filling my cement blocks with rocks...that cement looks much more useful.

The tree is pretty much done! The neighbor and his kid came over and they took care of it in short order! Going to make them some cookies later

but its only a 4x4 area! and its elevated!!! Its the one with an arrow pointing to it - this is about 12-18" above ground. The Rhubarbs were all much bigger than in this pic though.

They don't care. We find lay down spots for deer and fawns in the oddest places.

My MIL gave me a pair with no holes in them. I wore them in the garden and around the barn all the time. Now they have disappeared.... And I can't seem to find any new ones. I don't want the ones with holes in them....that just seems silly to me.

I would love some without holes! My feet get so dirty sometimes.

This week I'll start pinching off new flowers on any of the vines. Nothing that forms there will have full time to ripen before the chill of fall - so the plant can keep its energy for the fruit on hand.

I pulled flowers from mine today & topped them. Bring on fall!

I trimmed up the squash good & tied them up. Picked a few, bunch of beans, some peppers & tried to pull as many tomatoes as I could since they're saying we may get a bit of rain tomorrow (fingers and toes crossed), I don't want them to split since they really don't even know what rain is, lol. Deadheaded all the dahlias.

Put new locks on the coop & run today, something tried to dig into the run last night. I don't think it was the raccoon, but I saw new poop out there today too. DH is out getting some concrete - it's the one spot where I pulled up the anti dig apron to pour a concrete pad in front of the gate, there is like a 3 inch gap with no protection & of course that's where it dug! & to be honest, it's my fault since I put beef broth bones out yesterday & forgot to pick them up. I annoy myself. It'll be rectified soon.

& then I'm adding a couple tractor buckets full of wood chips to the run when the concrete is done.

Such a productive day.

Yes, the last house on our street that has it. The neighbor a couple doors down just ripped out their grass and put in rock and a new tree.

I'm so envious when I see grass. But but...sigh.
I like your idea of doing a small patch though. If I can figure out a good place to do it. It's taken me 15 years to fill it, but my garden has run out of space!

Not yet. Trimmed it down, bagged it and put it in the fridge for now.

My experience is mixer is better than mixing in a wheelbarrow . Cement truck is better if the job is big enough . I have done them all .
