What did you do in the garden today?

Well when I went to check for more squash I saw several blooms...but no idea how! Middle-ways up the vine was completely shredded and mushy...I'm guessing the vine borer finally found me?
Is that what it does to the vine?
So I pulled it on up...hopefully the 7 I have planted will start producing soon!
I have to say that early squash plant lasted a long time! Even if it only gave me a couple squash all season!

Sounds like it could be. This is what it looks like (pic not mine). If you cut it open you'll find the worm.

I'm preparing to make @WthrLadys tomato soup today! & some more dilly beans. So that means pressure canner & water bath canner at the same time, I'm a glutton.

My bird that had laying issues isn't feeling well this am. Got her some calcium & have her separated out. Of course I used up the last of the layer feed yesterday trying to get rid of it so now I have to go buy more. :he & it rained so hard yesterday my feeder got wet. It's been one of those mornings you just wish you stayed in bed & didn't discover all the issues going on. :lau

I've had plants live for quite a while with a svb, it doesn't always kill them right away.

I got 5 jars of dilly beans done - 1 burst in the canner. :barnie I haven't had that happen in a very long time.

& I have 10 pints of the tomato soup. 1 canner just shut off, the other is not far behind. That'll be a good amount of soup for cold, snowy days come this winter. I really like the recipe @WthrLady, not full of sugar or other things like carrots & celery - nice & simple so I can taste my tomatoes. So thank you for sharing. I did roast the tomatoes & mill them since I didn't have any already processed.
