Well, I done and done some stupid stuff again.
Ive been fasting the past week, trying to lose weight.
The weight thing has been an ongoing event, Ive been on this 'weightloss program' (we'll be polite and just call it that) for the better part of a year.
Ive lost a LOT of weight, and very happy with my results. Im in I guess I can call it, the final phase of my 'take it off' evolution. Maybe I should call it my final 'step' ...
Ive been losing the weight about 5 to 8 lbs at a time. I fast, go about two days to get past the keto flu, the 'switch over' from carbs to no carbs, the body tantruming over it, then you get into your 'zone'. Eat a little bit of food every day, but honestly after about the 3rd day, the hunger is not this 'all consuming' feeling anymore. It's more an after thought as you go about your work. Do this for about a week or so, burning off a lot of weight, getting to points, then HOLDING there. You can eat a bit more, but let your body I guess you could call 'reset' at that point, as it's new 'this is my cycle around this number... weight. Once you held the same point for about a week, and seem fairly stable there, go at it again, re initiate the fast, get over the keto flu crap, settle out, and go into your weight losing routine again.
Gotta keep yourself busy, exercising, WORKING etc. If you are going to lose weight, burn off the fat that is ON YOU... Make your body burn what you got stored. WORK does that.
Right now I am at 168 Lbs, I want to get to about 162. From there i'll 'slack' a little, let my body 'reset itself' and hopfully hover around the 165 to 170 as my hover point.
Gardening is EXCELLENT for doing this !! You are working pretty hard, I mean, pushing wheel barrows full of dirt and compost around burns calories. Pushing a push mower, with NO drive assist on it, so it's YOU pushing that mower, and mowing 1/3 ish acre of grass, is good exercise.,
You GOTTA watch your meds, especially if you are on blood pressure meds. You GOTTA watch your water intake, make sure you do NOT dehydrate. Just because you drank a decent amount of water, does not mean you body has assimilated it yet. When you lose 25 lbs or more, your blood pressure medicine, I can almost guarantee is too strong now. ANY dehydration and you will be in trouble.
Well here I am working on my fish pond, feeling a bit dizzy. Ive been here before, I am a little hot, I am, quite a bit sweating. I'll go inside and sit down a bit. So I stand up grab my phone and head for the door.
About a minute later I stand back up from where I passed out / fainted in the yard, very woozy and carefully make my dizzy eyesight going black - ass back into the air conditioned house. I drink some more water, even though I had a big glass maybe 10 minutes ago. I sit down and grab my blood pressure cuff. umm yah, 68 over 47 is probably a bit low. I bring this up as a warning that even though we may not feel it too bad, gardening CAN make you sweat quite a bit, and lose an awful lot of water. You can dehydrate and get yourself into problems.
Ive seen many people here say, oh the weather is nice now, ive done SO MUCH and finally have a chance to get XXXXX done !!! gotta hurry up before I lose the opportunity !!! Watch yourself, especially if you ARE on meds for this kind of thing or have some kind of compromise of your Bloodpressure health. I got lucky. What if I was on the roof of the 2 story house, with a scrub brush deciding it's time to clean my solar panels, and this happened up there or on the ladder??? You can have heat related issues WITHOUT it being blistering hot out.
