It was raining last night, so I checked the solution level of my Kratky 5 gallon tomato buckets. They were filled near the top, so I came up with a solution to this problem. I took out some solution and put in a TBS of Maxi Grow to bring the EC in my buckets back up to the recommended level. I put an empty upside down bucket on top of my tomato starts and covered it with an upside down tomato cage. The cage holds the upside down bucket in place. This way I don't have to worry about the rain water filling the buckets and diluting the fertilizer solution. I will do this every day in the evening, until the plants get bigger.
I know these tomato plant will drink a lot of water when they get bigger and I will be refilling them often, so the rain at that time is not a big issue. I will drill a hole at the refill level, so it doesn't over fill.
I have been foliage feeding my tomato starts in the morning and notice a big difference in their color and growth.
