What did you do in the garden today?

Snow today here.
Had to pick up the kids from a sleep over at my sister's. I need to see if we need to do any shopping. Might pick up some simple parts for the greenhouse if I'm out - thinking about bracing the roof beams with a connecting strip of aluminum under the center beam to increase strength in case of snow accumulation, some aluminum strips to make a bracket to mount the fan, pole barn screws to secure the panels, and then the vent covers.

FWIW I've had 6 inches of heavy wet snow up there with ice on top of that and it was fine, no sagging or deformation. and the snow slid right off as it melted.

That's helpful. The instructions warn to add bracing below the center beam if there's a chance of snow accumulation. Perhaps I don't need to worry so much...

To be fair, I didn't leave it up there for days on end, or to get more accumulation. I helped it along with a shop broom, like any sane person.

This post is for those of you who are parents or grandparents... I'm always on the lookout for cool toys that aren't run-of-the-mill, commercial stuff. I also have a granddaughter who is autistic so I like sensory type toys. I came across this store before Christmas and ordered from it. They really impressed me... Their stuff is great quality. They sent me a little catalog and I'm just floored at the cool stuff inside. If you are interested in something unique, take a look.

I tinkered a bit during our downtime today and came up with a bracket got the greenhouse exhaust fan.
A but hard to see clearly. It's laying over the fan - the 4 pieces of c-channel that make a square with legs sticking out at the top and bottom.

I'll drill holes in the end of the legs for bolts to connect it to the greenhouse studs and rafters.
