What did you do in the garden today?

I think it's good to grow an assortment of different colored cherry tomatoes. It gives my salad visual appeal and taste diversity. Today in paradise, I am having a Teriyaki burger, 2 Shrimp rolls, French Fries and a Cherry tomato salad for breakfast.

I am taking a break and inwardly whining because now there is nothing left for me to do on that chicken run than cover it with wire.

The structure is 8 feet high.
It's hot.
It's humid.
The bugs are biting me.
The neighbor's cow got out and left a pie in my work space.
I'm tired.

Thinking of taking a break and mowing...
I want to see a picture of the coop........................

Still sick, coughing, taking meds, tired bc little sleep. But, I'm the last in the house to get this bug, and everyone else was better in a couple of days from the worst symptoms, so Im hoping I'm the same.

Cloudy, was rainy earlier. I suppose I should at least do a once over of the animals and garden - Teen has been out and assured me everyone has water and food, but I like to verify at least 1x per 24 hours bc "oops" sometimes one group gets forgotten by teen.

We have an egg eater - but she has gotten "better" at her task. The eggs only have one end broken, and almost as if she can lick out the insides, they are completely cleaned out of contents, no mess in the nest box, and no evidence on any beaks. Now we need to figure out who this is.

Hope you feel better soon!

Wow, that was quick. What, 2 seasons out of it?

I got the cuke seeds in! :yesss: & watered everything else. My body says I'm done but I just want to be outside doing stuff. 😣

The pollen out there is unreal. & it's windy. My eyelids feel like they're sandpaper scraping on my eyeballs.
Three. If we don't get anymore hail, (LOL - snort ha! :lau ) then I might be able to squeeze one more out of it, but honestly.....I'm not sure it will make it.

Oh, I know. Early is the best! I got up at 4:30 this morning, but I had to go do an office cleaning, then get my truck serviced an buy supplies, so I didn't get started until probably about 11am. I would have loved to have had this done by then!!!

I found this about your Bok Choy varieties. I hope you can tell and save seeds of the one you like.

I bought flower head bags this year, as well as paper seed envelopes and tiny plastic zip baggies. I want to seriously learn how to save seed that's true to type.

Win-Win: Win-Win produces miniature or full-sized bulky vase-shaped heads of green leaves on white stems that are slightly smaller with denser heads than those of the Joi Choi variety—around 10 to 12 inches tall. This species of bok choy is renowned for the excellent flavor of its leaves. 52 days to maturity.

Joi Choi: Joi Choi is a versatile type of bok choy that has been bred to tolerate both hot and cold weather, and it is also slow to bolt, making it a versatile variety that is suitable for growing in a broad range of climates. It is a hybrid with white stems that contrast with the glossy dark green leaves and is valued for its juicy leaves with mild flavor that is similar to mustard greens. Joi Choi is known for maturing quickly, producing high yields, and growing to large sizes, up to around 18 inches tall when finished growing. 45-55 days to maturity.

Thank you! I probably read that when ordering the seeds but I had totally forgotten! From that description I bet it's the Joi Choi though because it still hasn't bolted and it's super juicy and delicious. It has a very mild flavor though, not mustardy. I'll definitely save seed from it as long as we don't eat it all first. Lol

Yeah, my county has a place that will do it. I have just really wanted one with the weighted gauges for a long time.

 And it's all shiny...
I love my canner with the weight. Its much easier to use. We have pressure gauge canner too, but I find it much more difficult to use because even slight adjustments sometimes result in page swings in pressure. The wighted canner naturally releases excess pressure, which causes the wobble many canning people know so well. As long as you don't get crazy with the heat, it's really easy to use.
