What did you do in the garden today?

I chipped up some more branches but that was all I had time for. We also got more rain. Took both dogs to the vet ( one at 11:30, the other at 2:00). It’s too hard to take them together . Zelda really reacted to getting her shots. The actual stick the needle in part of the shot. Never saw her react like that before. 😳
Luckily no one got bit. The vet tech and I were both holding her. The syringe went flying the first time. The second shot she kicked out at the vet with a back leg and kicked out at me with a front leg and almost backed her way out of the vet tech’s arms. Ended up distracting her with treats and she didn’t even flinch.

I tried it for curiosity..
Also, I try to eat a wide variety of foods including many kinds of variety; I don't think I eat many flower parts.
And, less waste.

Epicurious says:

"... packed with nutrients, including vitamin K and potassium."

Also, flavor - soups and stocks and such along with the cob.

If someone were to consider eating lots of it and/or has medical concerns, it would be good to check out the medicinal effects. Various other sites mention it can be good for kidney issues (NOT all kinds of kidney issues - most of the sites don't say that part), reduce water retention in the body, treating high blood pressure and gouty arthritis (uric acid builds up in the blood and causes inflammation in the joints), metabolic syndrome (which is obesity, hypertension, hyperglycemia, and abnormal levels of triglycerides and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol) and assist in weight loss… use in chinese medicine.
I know if you dry it and make a tea out of it, it is good against water retention

48 when I got up high of 74. My mom passed 16 years ago. She had an auction for her stuff and sold her house before going into the nursing home. She made it as easy as possible for us. We got a private pilot and plane and flew her up to the cabin one last time. Got her out of the nursing home and flew up here. She had lost a leg to diabetes. Put her and wheelchair in the boat and took her fishing one last time. Flew her back and to the nursing home same day. One last kindness as much for her as for us.
