What did you do in the garden today?

I need to plant my fall crops: carrots, turnips, beets, chard. It's been too hot to do much.
The hardest part of a fall garden here is getting things going when it is so hot. Once the temp cools down so do the bugs and gardening gets easier.

I'm trying to get the area ready. DH pulled some plants for me that were done. I need to turn the soil and add some compost. Just can't stay out there long. I go out early but most days it heats up so fast.

They were started Feb 12th & are now ripening their pods.
Scotch Bonnets from Jamacia, a tasty treat for those who like it hot.

Four Golden peppers each with it's own flavor & heat. They have a very tropical fruit flavor with sweet floral smells. You must grow these yourself the supermarkets don't carry these. All are OP so you can save your own seeds, some seed sellers are charging 40 & 50 cents per $eed so you can save your own. Sell them or get some very unique verities by trading them with other pepper growers, that's how I got so many cool peppers.

My tomatoes in the back took their time. No wonder! The size! My daughter in law says, let's put my phone beside it to show comparison. I had a double tomato sandwich for lunch. Wasn't aware tomatoes could taste so different. These are really tasty. Now, I wish I had paid attention to the name I bought.

I'm so far behind here its hopeless.

I walked thru the garden to get a cucumber for a friend. & she ate a green bean. That's all I got. :lau

The weather is insane, so much rain. 4 inches in the last couple days. My niece is getting married tomorrow, I was dreading a wedding in August because I despise heat but it looks like I'll need a sweater. It's crazy.

We have anoles and skinks. I love watching them, especially when the male anoles start puffing out their red throat. They think it will impress the ladies ;)

Not a great photo of a skink:

I found colorful one out the other day. Red headed skink this one is I think? I took a pic with phone. I’ve seen these species all they way down the shores of Bahamas. This was in coastal NC at my spot.
