winds howling to 50mph
can't see more than 200 yards
highway is closed - they're pulling people off the roads and getting the plows off the roads. What a mess.

I pulled a few carrots and turnips, they were delicious!

my pretty little sugar fairy christmas cactus is done flowering, so I'm going to take some starts to give away to friends. Otherwise, all's quiet on the gardening front.

This is the first time I see a white Schlumbergera . I rescued a pink one from dehydration last summer. It started to blossom in november.

I prefer gardening inside where the chickens don’t destroy the plants and I seem to have way less failures than outside.

Sorry for loss. Im sure you were attached to this girl. Having a chicken for so long is special.

Sorry for your loss of Merriweather! Well, she certainly lived a good long life!

Our oldest are just shy of 6 years old. We have 3 from our first flock. Two look pretty good, the third appears to have aged more than the other two …seems more elderly. Time will tell how many years they will live,
