What did you do in the garden today?

Oh yeah...some of those dreaded perfumes some folks drench themselves in are wicked. I recall one that was popular in the 80s, I think it was appropriately named Poison? To me it smelled like a cat's old litter box, badly beyond need of cleaning. Another perfume to hit my nostrils smelled like intense BO...like who in their right mind Wants to stink like that on purpose???
😆 I really had a lot of occasions where I'd enter a store or a line & need to U turn myself right back out again, just couldn't do it, many times I was gagging, trying my best not to puke as I fled to fresh air.
So I need to add something...there has been this awful trend going on past few years now, where people do not wash their hair or bathe on a regular basis. They just slather on more lotions, perfumes or hair products! More hair spray over Old hair spray, ugh, gross. It is worse than when in the 60s lady's got their hair poofed up, done every Saturday & sprayed with Aqua Net, rolled their heads up every night with toilet paper & bobby pins...& had that hairdo ALL WEEK... nasty! Well, these days the people not bathing, or doing hair spray or dread locks, are stinking even worse. Why? I guess they think daily showers & shampoos are damaging their skin or hair? OMG, don't they realize How Freaking Bad They STINK??? Entire grocery store aisle stink...ya can't even walk where they just walked 5 minutes ago kind of stink, it lingers heavy in the air. I'm talkin Like "fight back the vomit coming up in my throat as I heave" type stink. What the hell! Someone needs to tell these air polluting jerks...Sweat & Body Oils Need To Be Wahed Off, Not smothered over by something else that just locks in the stench.
Ok, I'm done my rant. 😆

Good morning gardeners. We’re getting a light shower right now. Well timed because I was planning on giving the garden a little drink of water. Hopefully it’s enough. My sage bloomed for the first time a couple of days ago @Sally PB. I snipped the flowers and put them in a 1/2 pint canning jar along with a red peony bloom. I think if you get enough of the roots your sage plant should be okay to transplant. Last year I planted a very tiny start and it has really grown well. Mine is in the herb bed with the oregano. I’m trying to decide what else I can put in there with them. The thyme I had growing in there was crowded out by the oregano. I may plant parsley or try the tarragon there.

Yay! On the dill, not the butterfly weed, but that's ok, I'll take it.

I've been starting runners from my new everbearing strawberries, but I really wanted my 2nd tower to be June bearing & Stark Bros just put them on sale. So 25 bare roots for $11.69, free shipping. :yesss:

If anyone is looking for more bare root strawberries, that's a good price.

Ive noticed my property being invaded by tiny grasshoppers. They are no bigger than a thumbnail. I've never seen them around here before... This is something entirely new. I need to treat them with some spinosad but have to wait for the rain to stop first...

can you use your chicken/duck army against grasshoppers? mine are very useful.

Anyone remember last Weekend when I said DH killed a skunk in our garage and I was pretty certain she was a lactating momma?

Well, just found her babies. They are in a den underneath my goat house. There's 3 of them. I don't think they are older than 3 or 4 weeks. Eyes barely open. They are hungry and searching for food or water. I'm trying to coax them out so I can catch them. I have already caught one. I feel helpless... It's going to storm tonight. Probably wet under there and I don't want them to die where I can't get to them. They are about the size of a newborn kitten. So tiny...

Cutie pie
My cousin lets the skunks live in her horse barn. She only has horses a cat and a small house dog.
She feeds them a bit of cat food. They have litters under the pallets the hay is stacked on. She has had 3 litters at the same time. She talks to them and they don't bother anyone.... until they go down to the next farm with a flock so not tolerant of predators.

I just had a lactating ground hog tangled in the fence and have since seen the baby out and about. It has to go through. I opened the hood of my car and baby was sitting inside. I put a rodent repellant and hoping for the best.

Took my frustrating cell phone in today. I think they got it straightened out. Was making pocket calls, going to dark screen, turned on flashlight.

make sure your phone does not know age. I've noticed that 70+ yo people phones go nuts. a friend's mother's phone kept sending messages that she was driving. this lady never got a driving license and she was 75+ old at that time. she did have her birthday date in a few applications.
