What did you do in the garden today?

I had several of those about 5 years ago. 80-90 squash, lots of BIG ones. The last few years, not worth the space, because I got 2. So none this year.

Wait a minute... cornstarch works to keep bugs off you??? Am I understanding this correctly? Please tell me how to do this!!!

I will not wear DEET. Hubby can't stand the smell of the natural ones; citronella stinks, he says.
It's best choice brand baby powder cornstarch....it's just cornstarch and baby smell goodness. Works for me dh and my shearing team.

Just finished picking nearly all the snap peas. Today’s haul is 2 1/4 pounds or 1000 grams. I love these peas because the pods are edible, so you get more food than regular peas. Tasty. Total harvest is currently at 4 1/2 pounds. Not bad for surviving the heatwave.View attachment 3870395

I would love to grow snap peas but it is too hot for them here. I tried once but the pods were hard, not really edible.

It's a damselfly, but I agree, he looks good.
Wow never heard of that before, cool, I learn so much here. ❤️

So I guess I love the Dragons & the Damsels, so amazing aren't they? All those colors! As pretty as the flowers they land upon.

Doctor set me off but she asked for it. Diabetic doctor ordered labs and results sent to GP also. GP Called about high cholesterol. No! Statins gave me drug induced hepatitis and lowered my immune system allowing me to get toxoplasmosis. This got into my right eye ruining my vision in the right eye. They still want to push drugs even though my chart says allergic to statins. When I had my heart ablation they said arteries were clean - no buildup. Trying to kill me.
Cholesterol seems to be controversial, some Drs want to lower it at any cost. Others say it's more complicated and sometimes it's not that bad to have higher cholesterol.

If you had at least one heart attack the doctors want you to lower that LDL cholesterol to around 50 or 60. I’ve had 2 and even though my last cardiac incident was 13 years ago my cardiologist told me I’m still at high risk for another. I only take 20 mg of rosuvastatin per day along with 5 mg of ezetimbe (zetia) my LDL went down from 75 - 80 down to 55. Those are low doses because I manage a lot through my diet. I’m not allergic to statins however they can increase your blood sugar levels. I manage my type 2 diabetes through diet. My A1c is normally under 7. Avoiding heavily processed foods and trans fats helps tremendously.

Finally over that covid nonsense. Japanese beetles found my yard finally after 7 years or whatever, so I set out some bag traps and it's disgusting how many they're caught.

My current goal is to cut down all the little mimosa trees in my front flower beds and use the brush killer on them. So I can at least pretend to care about my yard so the HOA won't yell at me :p.
