What did you do in the garden today?

DH didn't think he liked it till I made him some breaded (keto) & air fried. He asks for it all the time now. I love it in lasagna. :drool

That chicken had the time of it's life! :gig It reminded me of a little picture I just hung in the RV:

I just fed the whole garden, except for 1 bed (got tired, lol). Picked more cucumbers & am forcing them on the neighbors now. :gig Trimmed the squash.

Resting the back for a few mins then I'm going to make those refrig pickles/carrots/beans.
I absolutely love that little sign. I'm positive that if I left the gate open Darlin and Little One would be gone but they wouldn't go far. My little girls on the other hand would probably be like okay now that we're free let's blow this joint 🤣

I noticed that a volunteer tomato plant that came up this spring is nearly as big as the plants I spent months nurturing indoors before setting outside. Its stalk is as thick as the transplants and it has lots of blossoms.

I think I'll just plant tomato seeds in the garden early next spring instead of spending money and time starting them indoors. Sure would make things easier.
It is funny how well the volunteers do, isn't it? They take forever to show up then catch up so quickly. If they weren't a weird, cross pollinated mess I'd go with all the volunteers & never do starts!

When I saw it I just had to have it. I've had animals all my life from dogs & cats to goats & horses & every single one would bust out that gate in a second & live their best life on the other side till eventually wrangled up. Plus it's a little hippie cow like me. 🤭

Last year I went out to show off my garden and I was like WHOA, watch your step. There was probably about 50 squash plants at the edge of the garden. After I dug and dug and yup still more digging I finally got all of them out. When I took them to my daughter in law to give to a friend there was at least 100- 150 plants. My daughter in law didn't take them to her friend and they all died.😫

I do like these temperatures! Better than triple digits for sure.

I've had a nagging pain in my lower right side for awhile & it's getting worse. It is weird, can't really tell if it is related to hip, sciatic, a gall stone, psoas muscle, appendix, I have pain in lower back, too, so it's like the entire right side now hurts, groin, lower stomach, hip, shoots down the leg & I have a rough time all day long, but really tough when I finally lay down to sleep...the pain in my right side, groin, entire hip & down my right thigh is awful, even how my lower leg, calf & foot are situated drives my thigh nuts. It takes alternate heat then ice, a vibration massage gadget & lidocaine, plus moving a big pillow a thousand ways under the leg to elevate it...yeah, a total fidgety wreck for a good hour. Thank goodness for Benedryl to help me sleep, but even with that, when I roll over in my sleep onto my right side, pain wakes me right up.

Well, this morning I was trying to roll up a very heavy hose at work & the pain just really hit me, so much that I got dizzy, nauseous & nearly vomited. So...here I am, a lovely Sunday, should be weeding & looking for more bagworms, but I went to the walk-in place which is also an ER like a mini hospital. I really need to find out what this pain is & address it. If you Google it, you get so many possibilities of what it could be. Well, enough is enough, it needs to be identified & if possible, gotten rid of. I hate this crap, I really do.

This might help, something was wrong with my right leg. I couldn't sit on my knee. It felt like the pain was coming from my knee or calf, but it turned out to be higher. I fixed it with the chair stretch on this video.

I was suffering from feet pain that was caused by walking on river rocks in my back yard's walkway path. I was wearing cheap rubber slippers at that time, the kind that allows the strap to pop out on slips.
The pain went away after I started wearing oofoo slippers. These slippers were made for people with foot pain.

When I was working I got new boots every 6 months. I walked 5 to 15 miles a day. They gave us one pair a year. People couldn't figure out why I changed them when they looked fine. I couldn't figure out why they didn't try new shoes when they were in pain.

That's what I did with all the stuff I need to protect from deer.

It didn't work on Japanese Beetles though! :duc
Nope. Luckily JB didn't arrive here until two or three years ago, thanks to imported from infested areas of the US through nursery pots and plants. So we don't have the numbers here that they did when I lived in Ohio/Indiana and other infested places.

For real. My volunteer tomatillos are taking over everything, the ones I planted on purpose are doing okay, but they are less than half the size of the volunteers.

Speaking of tomatillos. Canned 6 pints! Wound up doing water bath.
