What did you do in the garden today?

Very little work in the garden today. I did dig for a few potatoes for me early this morning. I worked on cleaning the garage before lunch. I just need to move stuff around and sweep and I’ll be ready for my pellet delivery. Power went out again. Good grief. Fortunately my little battery operated fan kept me cool enough. It was only out for about 1/2 hour, but still annoying. If the power doesn’t go out again I’ll be working on mowing the backyard again in a little bit.

Well, I'm down for the count.

This may be a TMI moment. So yeah. So... The reason my DH helped me.... I have a brutal hemorrhoid that just decided to say "oh hi, yeah, you have this problem, don't forget about it!".... It was a minor annoyance on Friday. Yesterday it was a little worse. Today, it's crippling me. I took a bath. A BATH. I don't take baths, I'm not royalty! I'm not a floof. I don't waste water on that crap. I could water plants instead! Water here is a precious thing. We don't get much rain; our water table is being collapsed by the insanity that is urbanization.

Anyway.... I'm miserable. I will be taking tomorrow off of work due to this absolute hell that I'm enduring. :( Tucks, epsom bath, creams... I hate this. It's genetic for me, and having a child made it all the worse. Apparently... I need to take it easy. Pff. I am not amused.
This oil worked for me and many others.

What seed sites does everyone here recommend? I usually get mine from hardware stores or my local seed library, but I wanted to do scorzonera next year which is a little obscure so I think I’m going to have to order seeds. Most of the sites I’ve looked at are having their seed sales now, but I don’t know how reliable the specific sites are. I know people said they were having issues with Baker Creek this year, are there any others to avoid?
I recommend the determinate Hossinator and/or Red Snapper tomatoes from Hoss Tools. They have strong disease resistance and are heat tolerant.

I also recommend the determinate Tycoon tomatoes; they are another strong heat and disease resistant tomato. Available at Victoria seeds.

You can find videos on them on YouTube.

The Tycoon tomato variety did the best in my TYLCV infested yard. It was more compact and easier to maintain.

I pulled out those tomatoes that were dying. Nematodes! Yup. Even with French marigolds. I will admit that I didn't use my soil drench as carefully on that side of that bed, so I'm not too surprised. They made it further along than previous years.

A gopher ate the roots and chewed *through two of my pumpkin vines at the stem. I'm irritated, but not surprised. I set traps this morning. I lost three winter luxury pumpkins to the ground demon. Hopefully I don't lose any more.

emuaidMax ointment is another miracle product for me. I spend most of my time sitting on my Lazy Boy chair surfing the web and watching videos. Some of the problems I encountered were rashes and bed sores. emuaidMax cleared them up fast.

Extremely proud of my first-ever garlic harvest! However, can anyone tell me why some of these have holes in them? Is it a pest? Or splitting because of the way I grew them? Also, will these ones with the holes still store well, or should I try to eat them ASAP?
