What did you do in the garden today?

I don't know how old my Kenmore top load is. It was left here when I bought the house. It squeaks, it walks around on the floor sometimes and makes the kitchen cabinet doors rattle when it's spinning an unbalanced load, but it keeps on cleaning my laundry.

Along with the electric stove, the refrigerator and the dishwasher that were left here too I'm prepared (mentally, not financially) to repair or replace them as they die.

Just checked the weather for the weekend and thought maybe the Weather Channel was punking me but it's true! Hallelujah and Amen! 🙌
I'm going to use this opportunity to weed the overgrown jungle that used to be my hoop house! And maybe set up the new Greenstalk this weekend.

I've had to replace my refrigerator, oven, dishwasher, and dryer within the past year. The only appliances I haven't replaced yet is the microwave, trash compactor, and washer (less than 5 yrs old). I do suspect my microwave is going out so I suspect it will be next. The trash compactor is probably 20 years old (guessing because it was here when we bought the house) and a workhorse. From online reviews, it doesn't seem like any of the new models are as durable so I'm holding out as long as possible on the one I have.

Ha several restaurants and fast food can't get workers and have closed, limited hours or just drive through. Ever since covid.
The 2 stores I normally shop at besides Aldi have been out of little carts when I go between 9 and noon. I am able to go back out and find a cart, but some can't.
I have had vehicles dinged by runaway carts.
Yes! The runaway cart thing! That was just terrible some places! We got some bad dings from those.

I think it's usually better to repair an old, well made appliance than to replace it with a new, probably poorly constructed one. My Kitchen Aid electric stove has two burned out elements, and new OEM ones are expensive. I can deal with it for now, no problem.

Depending on how the Federal Home Energy Rebates Program pans out I might end up getting new appliances for little or no cost. States will administer the progam, and Washington state won't start offering the rebates until sometime in 2025. I can wait that long, even if it means going to the laundromat and cooking on my hotplate for a while. I have a clothesline, too. LOL

Might be how ya slept? I use a very flat pillow or at times no pillow but will roll a hand towel up & put in the crook of neck for sleeping. Those big pillows can be nice if ya eat soup while watching tv in bed & need propping up, but they're not good for sleeping. If ya tilt the head up too much it's bad. The chin should not be practically touching the chest, a recipe for wicked neck & headache, for me anyway. Too much looking down at phone or sitting in a waiting room with the darn cold air blowing down on neck is awful too.

flat pillow here as well.
