What did you do in the garden today?

I bought a pack of gardening gloves from TSC on clearance. They were the vinyl coated gloves that they normally sell in individual pairs but these had some black smudges on the vinyl. There were probably 10-15 pairs in the bundle? I paid $9.99 for the entire pack. Then I stashed them around the place so I'd always have a pair nearby... 😂 Some in the garage, house, gardening shed, barn, shop, etc... After a while, they migrate so I have to occasionally collect them and redistribute.

And yet, I still find myself in the garden at least half the time with no gloves... 😂🙄 I just forget to put some on before I go down there or I go down there with no intentions of getting my hands dirty. We all know how that turns out....
I have plastic coffee cans with lids stashed around the yard. I keep plastic grocery bags in them, for dog clean up duties. I read your post and was thinking that I could keep spare gloves in those cans.

But then I still would have to return them to the can, that's the problem... ;)

Well, this batch germinated just fine.... I may have gone a little overboard. I may need to thin them. 😂

DS was enjoying his sunflowers this evening. He asked me to take pictures. They are almost done for the year.

We had one giant one! This was a few weeks ago.

All this talk about stuff in your gloves and boots. One time I turned my pants right side out and there was a very, very, large wolf spider in them that wound up on my shoulder. I flung it off and it vanished.

A few weeks ago I was driving my son to daycare and felt something crawling on my thigh. I grabbed it and just held it away from my leg and took a detour back to the driveway and most certainly removed my pants in the driveway to discover that there was a baby lizard in my pants. I killed it on accident when I was holding it during the drive. It was the one drive that I was glad I drive an automatic these days. 🤣
I had a lovely stand of Sunflowers... Seen here. They were easily close to 10 ft tall. Then a storm came through and flattened them over the top of my potato bed. 😔 I left them there and they continued to produce for the birds and bees. They are looking pretty sorry now so I'm pretty sure they are nearly done. Next year I need to figure out a way to support them so this doesn't happen again. I did stake them and use rope to try to support but it didn't work.

Anyone else use OverEz Chicken Waterer and Chicken Feeder?
Trying to find a way when we will be gone for several days - care for chickens.
I’m still using their normal feeders and waters bc they are creatures of habit.
Yes, I have one of those... I have problems with mice getting inside though... They burrow through the feed and then poop all over inside. Also, cleaning it out is a pain because the engineering allows it to trap dust, crumbs, (and mouse turds) inside...no matter how much you flip it over or roll it around to try to shake that stuff out. 🙄

I bought a "waterproof" outdoor toolbox to keep in the garden area a few years ago. I kept twine, trimmers, etc in it. It was NOT waterproof like it claimed. And the sun broke down the plastic by the 2nd year. Lesson learned on that one...

G’morning folks. I watered, found a hidden duck nest, hopefully blocked off another nest after the broody appeared, and trimmed a couple of branches off shrubs that were blocking a path. Stacked the remaining cinder blocks in a couple of different areas to use as seats. Not super comfy, but not terrible either.
