What did you do in the garden today?

Prayers for swift healing.
I haven't eaten out in a decade. I don't miss the germs 😂
If a cook is sick, the germs rarely survive the grill temperature. But After meals are cooked, they place them up on the hot plate area, along with all of the other meals being ordered. Wait staff come & go by, looking for their customer's order & taking them as they are ready. THAT'S WHO is most likely spreading the germs, hacking, coughing, sneezing & exhaling germs on that hot plate area.

Another disgusting area is a public buffet...EVERYONE going up there...spewing their germs. I'm sorry, but while a plexiglass or glass barrier may seem to keep spittle off of the food, it does nothing to deter airborne germs.

I'd much rather eat at home!

I have been drying my small red peppers as they turn red, but I don't think I will be able to use them with in 5 years. I ground a batch up and made Kimchi with them, it was so hot I almost died. I had to rinse it off and readjust the amount. I can use them, but only in pinches. I will stop drying them and let the birds eat them. There is a small bird where I live called mejiro that likes to eat them.
Love that little bird! So cute!

Saw a big fat green worm, enjoying a tomato on my counter. The chickens enjoyed the tomato & the worm.

I saw a small cricket marring my perfect bell pepper that just turned red. Chickens enjoyed the cricket & I moved the pepper plant still potted, up to my back deck.

Checked the last cucumber plant leaves & found some squash bugs, yup chickens liked them, too.

Cut grass & saw more bagworms on the trees! Picked them off, they livened up the fire pit.

Skeeters buzzed my ears & were bugging in my hair & hat. I got one super itchy bite on my upper arm, the underside. I use Sarna lotion & Benedryl cream.

The biting flies & gnats annoy me the most. We had a bit of light drizzle & they came to life. I'm sick of them for sure. Darn fly bit clean through my sock...won't be biting anyone anymore, though. Lol

I found a couple of horn worms, chickens like them. I also see several little green inch worms in the garden. Always thought they were cute when I was a kid. Can't brig myself to kill them, so I relocate them.

I picked some pinto beans, black beans, a few tomatoes and a handful of grapes. The nice surprise was 1/4 pound of nearly 6 inch long green beans hiding among a protective barrier of weeds. I haven’t picked them in at least a month.

I started to think that I bought seeds for mild Jalapenos this spring, but no. They were labeled as being "Hot!".

Maybe they'll heat up some as they mature.

Cut back on water. Peppers need stress to increase capsaicin, their natural defense.

Yesterday was rough. Fever and mucus. I hope that was the breaking point for this cold. I made cucumber salad and got the mail. Slept a lot. Feel like doing more today. We stopped at a buffet on the way home from the cabin an hour from home. 5 adults and 2 small children. Every one of us got this head cold. Conclusion is a cook could not afford to miss work.
Still hanging on huh? I hope you feel better soon Jerry.

G’morning everyone. All I did was water over the last couple days. Got the broody duck locked out of her hiding spot yesterday and now there’s no access for anyone to get in there :yesss: This morning was pleasant with a cool feeling but not quite crisply cool. I can’t wait for that! I’m in the process of dumping materials in a tarp to mix for the Greenstalk; should be able to let the chicks out next weekend and then I can work on that.

or my personal favorite, when they wipe everything with the same dirty slop bucket rag, including the seats, then your table. The salt and pepper and condiment table containers are FILTHY, always.

Poor training. Or no one cares.

I worked in restaurants for over a decade. Wipe table first, then seats. We had towels with red stripes and with blue stripes so we wouldn't use the seat towel on the table. Separate buckets, too.
