3rd cup,, time to feed the dogs, get dressed, wash the chicken water jug, seed carrot and parsnip I know I am late on these but OH WELL, I have celery and parsley seed to do yet, I better check my seed box and see what I have left out.
I'll see if lows has more blueberries, I have room for two more.

We are an unusual couple, he likes talking about furniture and stuff like that, used to go a beautician ( until the kids came, and money was short) and gets a hair cut every 4-6 weeks , I took industrial arts in high school and cut my hair by myself, every 6 months or so am used to handling a chain saw and fix as much as I can in our house
Did I mention hubby pierced a spray can when I asked him if he could open it, the spray can exploded over his work computer and kept on spraying until I removed it from his hand and threw it outside
I am afraid if he touches the chainsaw, he will either lose and arm or a leg every time I go away for a few days ( hospital, rehabilitation) when I come home he had broken at least one fixture, sometimes two, he isn’t patient and then uses force, which usually doesn’t end well

We are a similar odd couple. I do all of the outdoor chores, use the big 6800 Kubota, build most of the projects, use the chainsaws, split the wood, repair most of the things and, well, I do most of the domestic chores as well.

My DH isn't as bad as yours though. Mine can use the chainsaw and kinda fix things. He has rebuilt two of the hydraulic cylinders on the tractor loader and is about to do a third. But, his allergies prevent him from being very useful outdoors this time of year. He's also a cheap ah... I mean... he's frugal. Yet somehow he has more clothes than me, more shoes, and about 100 jackets. I exaggerate there but dude he has too many jackets.

He cuts his own hair, and mine. I finish his hair cuts on the back and around his ears. I cut my bangs. He cuts DS hair. He does most of the oil changes. He's a great cook. He works really hard and is one of the most logical and kind people I've ever met. Also one of the most honest.

I do most of what I do because I enjoy it all. Keeps me in shape and I like to stay busy. I have no problem doing any chore that needs to be done. Including emptying the poo tank on the camper. Though it's 40' of stinky slinkies to get to the sewer access. Kind of a pain in the butt.

feed your cats at day time and let them catch mice at night. don't keep any feed available at night.

These are feral strays that come to feed at night. They are not around during the day because there is too much outdoor activity of people and animals. I let them come at night because they also hunt the mice and rats which are also out at night. I don't put out a lot of food because I WANT them to hunt. Just enough to keep them around...

The rat problem around here is starting to pick up though. I still live trap them but they are getting wise to that even though I move the trap from area to area. I just ordered some eco-friendly rat poison. I have an old, small chicken coop that I don't use anymore. Rats are definitely living under it and inside it. I'm going to use this rat poison in there where I'm sure the chickens & ducks can't get to it. We'll see if it works.... I don't like killing animals for just trying to survive but hanta virus is a legit concern so....

Voles primarily eat plants. They like to feast on roots, tubers, or bulbs, which puts crops like onions, potatoes, sweet potatoes, turnips, and beets at risk. With the roots gone, plant tops collapse. Some voles also chew plants at the crown, causing the top to fall over.

Moles' favorite meal includes earthworms, grubs, snails, spiders, small animals, and other insects. Because moles require a lot of food for energy, they eat more than their one-pound body weight in food each day.

Voles are why I moved nearly all of my root vegetables into raised beds...

I do have an aforementioned stray Tom cat that likes to hunt said voles in my garden area....

I got my saddest garden bed amended with compost and sulfur today. Gave it a dose of the nematode soil drench. It's the last bed that has root knot nematodes. Hopefully I'm finished with it this year and only have to do a seasonal treatment from now on.

Compost came from the chicken run! My first year being able to pull from it.

Tomorrow I will plant stuff. Not sure what yet. Probably zucchini. Maybe popcorn.

Got my seedlings off of the ground. I'll be selling the excess in the coming weeks. All of these are extras.

Except the two on the ground. Those are herbs and flowers.

I wish my seedlings looked that good. Failed to transplant my 1" seedlings to 4" containers timely and suffering from lack of plant growth. I'm running about 2 weeks behind for everything but my bell peppers.

I dig compost out of the chicken run in the spring; I'll be doing it soon. Then I clean out the coop and put all the shavings in the run and put new shavings in the coop. That way the coop shavings get a year to break down before they end up in the garden.

Same. Just dig out half of the cold compost and rinse and repeat each year.

I find it in the yard and in new mulch mostly.

This is on one year mulch. Never had it before. Definitely what it was. I watered for the first time this season over there two days ago.

Do you cover your carrot seeds after planting to keep them moist for the first week or so? I place boards over mine and check every few days until I see the sprouts.

I caught 19 rats in my car using 2 different traps. there is at least one rat that totally ignores the trap. I must find a way to catch it. although I don't like killing animals I don't mind killing rats and mice. they did too much damage to me.

I have several open trays of mousex in the house. They have been there for years and the mice are not eating it. I catch several mice a day
