Today I was weeding my strawberry patch and I found not one, not two, but three spiders! I took them to a biology professor near where I live, and he said that he thought they might be hobo spiders!

I'm having issues with some of my peppers this year as well. Whole plants just wilting and dying. I pulled them out and it seems like the roots rotted. But the soil isn't overly wet. So maybe it's because it got too cold in the soil, with the moisture.I went out and checked out the garden. My corn, squash and beans are sprouting up. Unfortunately my peppers are dying off. I will check it out tomorrow after I get home from visiting my mom.
GreenStalk.comwhere did you get the tower?
Look up fusarium or verticullum wilt. I believe you have the former.I've developed a new problem.... Wilting potato plants. They are not turning yellow or anything. Just seem to wilt and die suddenly. It started with one plant. Suddenly, in a matter of 2 days, it was the entire tub almost... The plants were perfectly healthy right before this happened. I'll try to get a picture later on...
Encouragement is needed when we feel defeated. Happy to bolster you.Thank you. I didn't know I needed to read something like this this morning. I'm trying to keep a list of things I do to remind myself that I'm making real progress.
If you lived closer you could have come to dig my strays. Hope yours grow. Plants and seeds have inflated quite a bit since the covid gardening craze.Picked leaf lettuce, kale, bok choi, chives and watercress from the garden and had a giant salad for lunch. It was good!
And planted strawberry crowns for the grandkids. Dang HomeDepot lack of quality. Supposed to be 10 crowns, there were 9. Two or three looked good, the rest iffy. I'll save the receipt and package just in case...
I finally broke down and bought the spinning bases. Game changer in the sun department. I agree with the watering, but alas, the hose works fine, and no slugs!I just bought one, so I'll keep these tips in mind. Thanks.
So very true. I sometimes have to remove them from places where I'd like to plant something else. Lots of volunteers every year. Some get to stay.Because you never get all the potatoes when you dig them.
