It has always taken me 2 weeks to weed my property, one area a day. We've had so much rain I got 3 areas done yesterday, everything came up so easy! That's the bright side to all this rain. The down side is all my Roma tomato leaves are yellowing out. : ( The indeterminate types are doing alright though.

I’ve found that when there’s too much rain it washes the nutrients out of the soil. Adding some fertilizer along with a magnesium boost to help the plants, especially tomato plants absorb the nutrients. I just use Epsom salts because it’s cheap and always on hand.

I did a lot more weed whacking on the hill then ran a hose up there with a sprinkler for the tomatoes and onions. Then I worked on clearing the newly overgrown path to the corn patch. Good grief what a mess. However, I still think I can get in there to prep the area to get the corn in the ground by the end of this month. If there’s still no emerging lima beans within the next several days I’m going to plant summer squash. The temperatures only got up to 78F today and with the wind I felt like I made some serious headway in my weed whacking battle.

Got an eighth of an inch of rain today and supposed to get more tomorrow. I might not have to water the peppers and tomatoes this week.

I think the ketchup was the magic ingredient. I’ve tried to like eggplant, but it just doesn’t agree with my palate.

  (can substitute with Tamari - Amazon )

  brown sugar
• 0.50 tbsp
  ground bean sauce (amazon)
• 2 tsp
  cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp
    Shaoxing cooking wine
    (optional)
  • 4 tbsp
    water
  • 1 tsp
    sesame oil
    (add at the very end)

I trimmed the bottom leaves off most of my tomatoes. The plants are looking good.

I have a baby butternut squash! I've never had one this early. I hope the 90s we have coming don't make it give up and drop off.

I cut the last of the garlic scapes and picked a small bowl of snap peas.

The sky cleared this afternoon. Went out late picking raspberries. A bee stung my ear And I kept picking until another bee tried to sting me. I left but was not finished picking. Maybe tomorrow.
