What did you do in the garden today?

My favorite hen... The one with the tumor on the side of her mouth... Is on her last day. 😭 That tumor has grown so large that she can no longer close her mouth or open one eye. She can no longer eat and I'm fairly certain she can't really drink either.

DH is going to put her down for me tonight. 😭😭😭 My poor poor girl. I hate that she is suffering.
Oh hun, I am so so sorry! Bless your heart for trying so hard for her. Wish the ivermectin would've worked.

If I had started the ivermectin sooner, it might have helped. When I was using it, it did seem to slow down the growth of the tumor. However there was a 2 week period when I wasn't able to treat her with it. The tumor seemed to go into turbo mode. It got very big, very fast.

DH said she hardly moved when he went to dispatch her with the .22. She was clearly already at death's door. At least she is no longer suffering. 😭

I'm so sorry - your efforts to save her showed how much you loved her.

My heart aches with you. We know she's not hurting anymore.

still hot here. my small (partially shaded) garden is doing well. I have some tomatoes, cucumbers, bell peppers, bush beans and zucchini there. my sunny big garden is fighting to survive.

today I'll transplant cauliflowers (white and green) into single pots. I have them in big pots now. broccoli pot was destroyed by my stupid dog so the new ones are just sprouting. I'll be eating cauliflower before broccoli this winter.

I had 4-5 years old seeds of morada (purple) carrot. 6 of them sprouted. I'll concentrate on saving seeds from them.
