Is this a good thing?
I did absolutely nothing in the garden today - not because I couldn't , not because nothing needed doing and not because anything prevented me from doing anything. After two weeks of nasty, windy, off-and-on cold, wet mess, it was so beautiful out today - upper 40's, no wind and lots of warm sunshine - that I just sat and enjoyed a little bit of my day. Should I have used the good weather to finish some winterizing? Absolutely. Do I regret spending the time the way I did? Absolutely NOT!

It's been a warm late-fall here in the SW WA interior (west of the Cascades). It hasn't even dropped below freezing temps yet which is unusual. The patch of crocosmia flowers that died off earlier this fall is sending up it's spring growth, about 6 inches worth so far.

Looking at the 10 day forecast it's supposed to drop down to 37 degrees on Dec. 22, with a chance of snow flurries. For all of you suffering through the cold winter weather, you have my sympathies. But we are going to get a lot of rain. Some rivers are at or above flood stage now and for the next week. There are reports of landslides too.

I got my seeds today! MIGardener sent a little sample packet of their fertilizer too, so I guess I’ll have to try that out next year…

It's going to be really cold here tonight! Light snow today off n on all day. Perfect day to work on christmas projects indoors. Locked the girls up tonight with a promise of warm oatmeal in the morning. @WthrLady - are you ready for our freezing night? I've seen -4 for me, not sure about you.
