What did you do in the garden today?

This is what I did today brought Snow out with from under my old Shasta trailer she had dug a hole under it for safety of her pups. 5 pups Maremma sheepdog and Standard Poodle.

-9 degrees here. 5 inches of snow by my measure. Need to get out today and go places that I canceled on yesterday.
I'm only -1f with a dusting of snow. 10f predicted as a high today. 25f tomorrow

Nothing important enough to go places today for me.

Well good golly, y'all make me feel like our weather is practically balmy at 13*

Tended the chickens and rigged up a deer feeder today. Anything else can just wait, we're going to be 60* in a few days.
It's been fine January weather, with January thaw later in the week.... 🤔 Except it's still fall 🍂

It's been a warm late-fall here in the SW WA interior (west of the Cascades). It hasn't even dropped below freezing temps yet which is unusual. The patch of crocosmia flowers that died off earlier this fall is sending up it's spring growth, about 6 inches worth so far.

Looking at the 10 day forecast it's supposed to drop down to 37 degrees on Dec. 22, with a chance of snow flurries. For all of you suffering through the cold winter weather, you have my sympathies. But we are going to get a lot of rain. Some rivers are at or above flood stage now and for the next week. There are reports of landslides too.

Stay safe out there. (Beautiful area you live in BTW)

Just a heads up, don't buy a mason jar hand coffee bean grinder like I did. I recommend getting something like this heavy duty electric one. It's easy to use and works really well. I think it's about $59 on amazon. I just got mine today and I am impressed with the quality.

SHARDOR Professional Conical Burr Coffee Grinder, Coffee Bean Grinder with 48 Grind Settings for Espresso, Drip & French Press, Upgraded Anti-Static Technology, Precision Timer, Stainless Steel

This is what it looked like yesterday on the highway from our house to town. We made it to my aunt's funeral; she was only 64. It was 5*F and despite it all, there were so many people there it ran over an hour late trying to seat everyone.
