Picked a nice pile of veggies for dinner

Transplanted pepper plants from the "chicken bags" over to the raised bed... hoping they can do better over there.

Yesterday, today and guessing tomorrow, we are taming some peach trees-aka pruning them so I can reach the top from my 8' orchard ladder. The ones that have peaches that have fruit we don't like. Either too small, too cling or too mealy (these are probably all self planted and not good grafted versions) So, in the spring, I will be able to graft some better scions on to those branches. I picked about 15g of peaches that had fallen in the past day or two off the ground. We have far too many peach trees!

We also moved our wood pile and restacked it. I never intended to keep as much as we have, but my guy keeps wanting me to size up everything I cut and save. It would be much more useful...if the fireplace was working!

And we fish fertilized everything that is still green in the veggie garden and all the roses.

Oh, aren't you worried about introducing diesease this time of year prunning the peach trees?

I did a lot of reading on summer pruning benefits in California for pruning the trees.


But, the reality is only one of the peach trees sets good useful peaches.

Rebuilding one of the raised beds between rain storms and planting out summer squash, cucumbers, lettuce, and three kinds of brassicas. Killed off handfuls of squash bugs yesterday and trained my butternut squash up a tomato cage.

Was outside planning to pull weeds in flower garden, but almost suffocated from the fire smoke. Can't breath...

Ugh ... we had fires just a couple of weeks ago so I understand the smoke.

We got all the brassicas planted and put in more carrots for the fall garden.

I pulled a bucket of weeds, watered, then switched gears to do more construction on the coop .
