Oh, aren't you worried about introducing diesease this time of year prunning the peach trees?Yesterday, today and guessing tomorrow, we are taming some peach trees-aka pruning them so I can reach the top from my 8' orchard ladder. The ones that have peaches that have fruit we don't like. Either too small, too cling or too mealy (these are probably all self planted and not good grafted versions) So, in the spring, I will be able to graft some better scions on to those branches. I picked about 15g of peaches that had fallen in the past day or two off the ground. We have far too many peach trees!
We also moved our wood pile and restacked it. I never intended to keep as much as we have, but my guy keeps wanting me to size up everything I cut and save. It would be much more useful...if the fireplace was working!
And we fish fertilized everything that is still green in the veggie garden and all the roses.
I did a lot of reading on summer pruning benefits in California for pruning the trees.Oh, aren't you worried about introducing diesease this time of year prunning the peach trees?
