For the garden, as long as it isn't organic, you can try sevin dust

Mulched around my bushes and some of my smaller plants today.
Today has been the first day with no rain in a bit. Hopefully I'll have some clear days to start building our privacy fence.

i did a bunch of pre work on expanding the garden and got dh to dig a couple of post holes. i picked a watermellon this morning and put it in the fridge, then after our nap ( and escape from the heat ) we ate almost all of it. it was just too hot today.

Two days ago I picked my ever bearing raspberries in my snowsuit....with a strong cold wind that was just above freezing blowing on me. I usually share my berries with my daughters and their families however when you are picking in a snow suit because it is sooooo cold it kind of takes away the sharing feeling.

Well, the organic and sorta effective way: DE (diatomaceous earth). The highly effective but OMG DO NOT let any of your critters NEAR it way (as in put it under a garbage can lid with something heavy on top): Amdro, which can be found at Home Depot, etc., is an ant bait that is laced with a very strong poison. You Do Not want this anywhere near chickens, dog, cats, etc. but it is very effective. It has something in it that attracts the ants like crazy from quite a distance - they eat it, and whammo! I do organic gardening and have chickens and other critters, so I only use this OUTSIDE my garden and run areas and always with something heavy covering it so nothing that shouldn't can get in it. Your ants will be gone like magic, though...
