What did you do with your flock today?

You must have lovely rose scented air morning and evening. So pretty!
I have my gran's jasmine (It was a houseplant but now practically covers the house!), honeysuckle and star jasmine (nowhere near as magnificent as Tropical Babies specimen) too so the smell in the mornings and evenings is pretty special. I adore scented plants. I'm always a little disappointed when a beautiful bloom is scentless.

If I mentioned this anywhere else, people would think/know that I'm crazy.

My chickens were down in the compost area next to the woods, and I brought my camping recliner chair down there. With a beer and a little 1/4 size Iron Man guitar I bought at Goodwill for 8 bucks. I played classic rock songs for my chickens for about an hour.

At first they acted confused. And then they kicked back and relaxed, listening to the tunes. Maybe it's crazy, but I think the music soothed them.
That sounds amazing! I'm nuts too. I dance with Ferdy, Penelope and Stan. And I read and 'sing' to everyone. 🤣

The kids got some ground up raw pumpkin guts, and strawberry trimmings. Moved their water bowls to an easier place to fill them, so I don't have to go inside, and just fill them through the fence, bonus, they're now in the shade under the trees, where the chooks like to relax in the warm afternoons we've been having. The lilies are in their full glory right now. Love when there's color outside. Also looks better without chickens eating plants and scratching out dirt baths in the beds.View attachment 3556014View attachment 3556017
What magnificent lillies! Another of my favourite flowers. I can't grow them here as giraffe neck Gladys snaps off the flower buds and then discards them having decided they're not good to eat 😠

Thanks! Oh, really? I think we warm up slower than ya'll. Just getting into constant mid-70's as of the 22nd. Been colder, with heat spikes off and on. Only now the squash, cucumbers and beans have more than 2 leaves. Finally getting strawberries, and the other berries should be ripening soon. I'll be busy spending hours picking those next month for about 3 weeks.
Think we're definitely on the same latitude as our gardens seem to be at about the same stage. We had our first strawberries last weekend, the beans are about halfway up the poles, gherkins are already fruiting and the squash I planted 3 weeks ago look fab!
